Your Fav Lunatic in a Movie? What's a good character in a movie that did a good job at creeping you out with how crazy they were? Someone who was out of his/her f*cking mind???
I don't count the horror flicks like Mike Myers or Saw. I'm talking about a "real" character that made an impact on you out with subtle lunacy...
For example;
Bette Davis in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"
Piper Laurie in "Carrie"...
Kathy Bates in "Misery"...
...and of course, Anthony Perkins in "Psycho"...

Jack is just the quintessential lunatic...lol. Probably One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest was his finest lunatic hour for me

Jame Gumb aka Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs played by the creepy Ted Levine whom I believe to be the eerie trucker voice of Rusty Nail in the film Joy Ride. Now that's some lunatic creepiness from both films.
John Caroll Lynch as Sherrif Ryan in the film Gothika. When he took his shirt off and started chasing her around the jail house I was like I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

You haven't seen Silence of the Lambs either or just the latter two?? : Watch Joy Ride 1st as it's a little better than Gothika. If you haven't seen Silence....well you just gotta get on that right away. It's an excellent film and quite unsettling at times but that's what makes it a great horror flick. I love that movie but dayum Faye Dunnaway made Joan Crawford look all kinds of crazy. I refuse to believe she was that mental.

Right off the top of my head, probably Kathy Bates in "Misery". She was so psycho, but somehow funny as hell at the same time.
I started to say Hannibal Lector, but honestly - I don't think he's insane at all. A sociopath yes, but batty? No. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day | |
