FutureShock

Look up headphones. Everything from headphones that cost several hundred dollars right down to phones under $20.

Several reviews from customers are usually posted.

Senheisser (hifi), akg (mixing), koss (hifi),beyer dynamic (mixing, recording).
All models around $ 150 to $ 200 are fine.

Whatever you do, make sure the leads into the ear-pieces are the THICK kind. Every pair I've ever owned has a developed a short where the cord meets the ear. mad

I've had my AKG pair for over 15 years now, and they still work fine. Paid 250 $ at the time.

The audiophiles on the .org will probaby laugh, but for listening purposes, I've been loyal to Sony's "earbud" style headphones--those little things that you just pop right inside your ear. I'm happy with the sound, and they're cheap to replace if need be. (I lost a pair at the beach last summer.)

I've heard the comparison between earbud headphones and thong underwear; either you think they're incredibly comfortable or incredibly annoying.

shrug Maybe earbuds are like eyeglasses--it just takes a little while to get used to them, and then you don't even notice them.
