All though it's not cool to sleep with students, I don't see why sending her to prison would do any good (Assuming everyone is 18 or older). Revoke her teachers license and fire her. Perhaps probation and community service, but prison for having sex between willing adults seems a bit rough.

She'll probably won't get any time, just agree to a suspended sentence. I don't get that part but someone like that I wouldn't want teaching my school as opposed to someone who has a job being a stripper/porn actress. Now that was stupid, saying they didn't want their kids to be around someone like that yet they have teachers who are supposed to be model citizens fucking their kids. In this particular case, the guys were just as ho-ish as the teacher.

another weird law in Texas is, if your kid misses school that can be a crime! For both the student and the parent.

In fact unless it is an actual crime (a true assault, (and fights should not always be treated a crime) drugs, REAL weapons (butter knifes and non-realistic toy gun or drawings of a gun or a gun hand gesture ARE NOT WEAPONS).

I say take a threat seriously but unless they can prove actual intent to carry it out... then it is not a crime.

Its not as if the guys are going to be traumatised for life now is it! They will be getting high fives from all over the school instead!

If it was the other way around and it was a male teacher and a female student that that is much worse or 5 teachers and a student then that's another story but really, who is the victim in all of this????

Although she is a slut, I don't think she should go to prison for 20 years or even 5 years. I think she should get probation, have her teaching license revoked, and she should get some sort of counseling. Any person, male or female, who would do this and jeapordize their family, future and risk public humiliation not to mention being threatened with jail time and fines ought to be examined by a mental health professional. Something is really wrong in her noggin.

As for the boys/dudes/now young men, they ought to get some counseling too. This whole thing could have gone in another direction and they need to acknowledge their part in this sordid mess. Besides, one day they may become teachers and we may hear about them doing to female students what this teacher did to them. Stop the cycle of madness people!

I don't agree with this. As a teacher, she was in a position of power over the boys despite the fact that they were 18. If they had been 21-year-old university students and she was their professor, it would still be wrong because, again, there is an asymmetrical relationship of power between them. Anyone who is a teacher should recognize this. Students look up to their teachers and can be very easily influenced by them. There is no way this should be tolerated.
