So, I Just Watched The 1973 Horror Flick "Baby" For The First Time..... What in the FOCK? ::major facepalm::
Some of the stuff are hilarious, but many of the scenes will require some serious therapeutic treatment in order to get rid off
Does anybody know this flick? What a strange story. [Edited 6/14/11 18:16pm] |

From Amazon:
It's hard to even know where to start discussing The Baby, one of the weirder and more obscure pieces of '70s film flotsam to come down the line. A social worker (Anjanette Comer) is called in to investigate a family's eligibility for aid. The family members (a widow and two adult daughters) have a baby under their roof--the odd thing is, the baby appears to be 23 or so and still residing in a playpen. The social worker is soon in over her head on the case, and events begin to take on a momentum of their own. The mother (Ruth Roman) doesn't appreciate the woman's snooping and soon goes from standoffish to downright hostile. The movie's climax comes from far, far in left field; it's a real jaw-dropper for even the most jaded horror fan. Roman gives a full-throttle performance as the blowsy, cigarette-puffing mom of the twisted little nuclear family, and her two daughters are close behind, with poor Baby (who has no other name) crawling, bawling, and dirtying his diapers. The scene where the three sneak up and find a teen babysitter breastfeeding Baby (yes, really), then beat the stuffing out of her with a belt is enough to scare the bejesus out of General George Patton. The girl wasn't asked to babysit again, incidentally. TV director Ted Post gives the film a bland movie-of-the-week look which, along with its sunny California climes, somehow makes it even more unnerving. Some may find The Baby offensive, some may find it inadvertently funny, but there's no question that it's a bizarre, uncomfortable movie that's highly recommended for cult-movie aficionados and fans of the depraved.

In short; a big bowl of WTFness! |

Oh...the acting in this movie.....
I don't know if you know who Udo Kier is but he has a small cameo in Suspiria. Wow. He was really striking when he was young. Now he's just creepy looking.

That scene had me laughing my ass off. I'll give them this though, I didn't know if she was going to get out or not.

Right? And the set designs were nuts! The music was killing me though.

Suspiria is creepy but not really scary at all. It's one of my least favorite Argento films. Just had to throw that out there!
Ruth Roman was also in Strangers On A Train...excellent Hitchcock film! "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu |

Yum! He has the most beautiful eyes.
I first fell in love with him when I saw "Blood for Dracula". |

Yeah I have seen....things in movies I am scared to talk about openly (one was a prince.org recommendation) so I can handle most any type of film. I got through the first hour and it does indeed have some disturbing things going on...I hope that it ends on a good note Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Will do I'm WAAAAAY behind when it comes to Hitchcock. All this time I thought Anatomy of A Murder was his film, turned out that it was Otto Preminger's, it goes to show you.
The only films I've watched from him were The Man Who Knew Too Much(the 1934 version) and Psycho and I loved them. I watched the latter because of the big deal surrounding it. |

Just finished it on my way to work. I didnt expect that ending! It was an ok film overall. I think the first half saved the film most of all, cheesy however I'm glad I seen it. With some more realistic writing and a couple bits edited here and there it looks like it could be a nice indie remake. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Just look it up and see of the have it listed. If so it would most likely be uploaded in parts of 14 minutes each (for some reasons documentaries are allowed longer upload segments, though).
If you have a youtube account, you can line/queue all the videos up one after another on a "playlist" to watch in continuum...( at least that's how I watch all my cheesy 70's tv shows ) |

Someone recently recommended the heist movie "Takers" to me (because I like those a lot ),
Not only was it too gritty for my taste, but one of the villains appeared to be the star from Serbian Film, I couldn't sleep for hours afterwards just from seeing his face again |

Yes I have watched that film...and yes that was the one. I am glad I seen it because it is indeed the most vile disturbing movie of all time in my opinion and nothing can top it...it would be very hard to. The last half of that flick was really intense. Even though it was horrifying it still was made very well. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Again, I could never watch a film on YOUTUBE. Watching a full-length movie on my computer monitor is bad enough, but then having it stop every 10-14 minutes? No way. |
