My fave show ever I watched Blue Velvet on the strength of Twin Peaks as a matter of fact, but I've yet to figure out what he was trying to say in the movie. Mr.Lynch has a knack of making his audience go through a mind fuck. Just when you thought you figured the story out, some unpredictable scene pops out and throw you in a loop.
Same with Mulholland Drive, its like watching a dream in two parts, as opposed to a film with a traditional plot line. Psychiatrists would have a field day analyzing his movies thats for sure
TP aside, I find Wild at Heart to be his best, it's such a beautifully kooky love story with just the right amount of surrealist horror and weirdness. It was filmed while Twin Peaks was being made, so some of the same actors pop up in small roles. Shit,,,you've probably seen it anyway.
It's not good, no? I hear it's shot on a semi-professional camera which could be frustrating, especially if it's one of his headfuck plotlines again.
the experience I had watching this film was that the DVD I have is so scratched, I missed about a 15 minute chunk of footage right in the middle of the film. Apparently even with the missing footage, the movie doesn't make a lot more sense.
It does annoy me that the movie doesn't LOOK like a feature film, it really does look like it's shot on any old video camera.

He sure loves to cast Laura Dern. I intend to watch the film as well, although I've been told before that I need to be prepared for some of the imagery
This weekend brought us to the 1 year anniversary of our dogs's death. This movie tore us to bits but was theraputic in a way. In any event loved it, and it was a fitting (albeit tearful) tribute to dogs and dog lovers everywhere. The only thing that bugged me is that Jen Aniston looked like she had facial fillers injected while she was filming this and spent the majority of the mvie looking like a space alien parading around as Jennifer Aniston- her forehead didn't move for the entire length of the movie and she looked bizarre during the angst and grief scenes 'cause her eyes were slant and her face wouldn't move. Still, I give it 4/5
Jen looks like a man anyways. I can never for the love of me figure out why folks find her sexy.
4/5 A little too slow and measured for my liking. But an amazing score, gorgeously shot, unpredictable and suspenseful plot, Charles Bronson's face, Claudia Cardinale. A very good film.

My favorite western (not that I'm any sort of western aficionado). I plan on watching the blu-ray release this weekend.
