Pusher trilogy (1996/2004/2005): explores the drug life in the underworld of Copenhagen. all three films are excellent with very interesting characters.

I really enjoyed them especially the first two.Very gritty and hard edge.

I find the director (Nicolas Rfn) to be one of the finest around. I think Bronson was one of the most overlooked films of 2008.

looking forward to his newest Drive (just won best director at the Cannes film festival) starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan & Christina Hendricks. very interesting cast!

Water for Elephants (2011)

the elephant was the best part of this! ok and the cinematography.

sweet story but the pace felt too slow and boring for most of the film, and there was hardly any chemistry between all three characters. expected a lot more.

I absolutely love this film. the whole going back & forth in time and the way it's done so seamlessly was just brilliant!

The Break Up's ok, it did seem as though it was mainly Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn arguing for 90 mins.

Yeah looks great, but after two viewings I don't think it's a great movie. A decent movie, yes, but the plots pretty weak, and the characters are uninteresting, especially Frank.

Vastly inferior to Twin Peaks on every concievable level. Including Kyle MacLachlan's hair.

My fave show ever nod I watched Blue Velvet on the strength of Twin Peaks as a matter of fact, but I've yet to figure out what he was trying to say in the movie. Mr.Lynch has a knack of making his audience go through a mind fuck. Just when you thought you figured the story out, some unpredictable scene pops out and throw you in a loop.

Same with Mulholland Drive, its like watching a dream in two parts, as opposed to a film with a traditional plot line. Psychiatrists would have a field day analyzing his movies thats for sure lol

TP aside, I find Wild at Heart to be his best, it's such a beautifully kooky love story with just the right amount of surrealist horror and weirdness. It was filmed while Twin Peaks was being made, so some of the same actors pop up in small roles. Shit,,,you've probably seen it anyway.

I need to see Inland Empire.

Ottensen

This weekend brought us to the 1 year anniversary of our dogs's death. This movie tore us to bits but was theraputic in a way. In any event loved it, and it was a fitting (albeit tearful) tribute to dogs and dog lovers everywhere. The only thing that bugged me is that Jen Aniston looked like she had facial fillers injected while she was filming this and spent the majority of the mvie looking like a space alien parading around as Jennifer Aniston- her forehead didn't move for the entire length of the movie and she looked bizarre during the angst and grief scenes 'cause her eyes were slant and her face wouldn't move. Still, I give it 4/5 star star star star

sure. i gave it 3 cuz it didn't move me emotionally. i felt like the director was making me watch someone else's experience instead of involving me in it. everything else was excellent.

I saw The Hangover Part II yesterday. I'll give it a 2 out of 5. I did laugh a couple of times, but I didn't really like it. The first one was much better. shrug

Also watched The Silence of the Lambs for the first time yesterday. 5 out of 5 nod
