This was actually a good topic! One of the reasons that I don't show my pictures at all is because I want to have a place where I am blunt. Then again, when you are honest there are people who will attack what you say in a way that is critical of your viewpoint and then there are others who will just be critical of you as an orger in general. The latter make me wish I edited what I say about myself more. However if I have to be all phony Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm when I come on here then I don't have fun being here and stay away. sad .

Surely there is a solution. Truth is I love myfavorite and others who are honest and this place would suck royally if If everyone was a stepford wife.

i show my pic for just that same reason. I'M BLUNT!!!

but i have never been one to hide behind a keyboard.

i'm the same no matter where i go. and i go where ever i please.

when people see me in real life they know who i am and

they love me. it gives them a chance to say who they are

and feel cool about it.

then there are them who rather claim to have never heard

of the org... for good reasons, i guess.

if everybody kept it real, there would be no reason to hide

behind avatars and stage names.

You can't be real here....

people will either call you a racist or think you are trying to call them one.

Some people are so sensitive here they try to make everything about them. Shit that shouldn't even matter gets blown up. They whine, cry and carry on then they go on reporting binges.

Ya know.... did anyone ever stop to think that no one gives a fuck? That maybe... just maybe, when someone complains about their life/situation that they are just using a the org as a mental toilet and that anything that happens here or is said here really doesn't matter anyways?

Keeping it real goes wrong when you forget what IS real and what is not.

wink

Have fun people, stop caring about what people think because they don't know you or really give a fuck anyways.

The problem is what is "real" to one person isn't necessarily "real" to another.

The "truth" is all a matter of perception--except... I think there are universal truths.

Like..let's see.. Love is good.

I was gonna say stealing is bad, but then again... It all depends upon the circumstances.

You know what I've just realized? I just think we ALL can be insensitive. I just think MOST if not ALL of us say things that piss-off people, and we don't even realize it. Or maybe we think our "truth" is more important than the other person's feelings.

I just think we all can't take things that personally. In other words, I'm gonna say stuff that pisses-off somebody even though that's not my intent. And then another person is gonna say something that pisses me off even though it's not his/her intent. I just think MOST people don't intend to piss-off others.. just for the hell of it. Of course there are those who DO just say stuff to stir the pot. But most of the time, it's just a matter of... well nothing, really.lol

For me it is different. Two of my favorite orgers from the get go were paintedlady and HotGritz. I had no clue what they looked like and who they knew. Their kids didn't need to get along with mine. I liked them because I liked their org personalities, period. I knew they liked me for the same reason. If I was in a house fire and didn't look the same my friendships and avatar would not change. If I finally became wealthy the same would be true.

It is rare to have a place to hang out were people do not judge you by your outside, your looks, your wadrobe, your boob size or money. I love keeping it that way because to me the REAL ME isn't about that, and if I love you I love you at 400 lbs or at 98. I will love you on a parkbench taking trips to the library to get on the org and I will love you living in a penthouse.

Unfortunately, not all humans are like that. This place is my Utopia. Free. I do not hide behind my avatar, I am just escaping the mask of my outsides for a few lovely minutes.

Sometimes it scares me when someone on here or another Prince fan site calls me by my real name.

But what's scarier is when I sent an email to Paisley Park back in early 2000's during the npgmc club to complain about the quality of the release of The Beautiful Experience VHS tape which ended up being worse picture quality than my bootleg VHS.

I wrote in to whatever email was available for order information and complained and said they shouldn't release unprofessional stuff to paying customers.

I got a responce back, something like "Sorry, that's all we had available"

then I got a question...

"Are you Ufoclub who entered the music contest?"

I said yes, and got a response back. "Your entry was interesting"

Later at the last celebration I asked Femi Jiya if he and the other music engineers were the ones that judged the contest entries, and he smiled strangely and said, "Oh no, we weren't the ones. We didn't have any say."
