totally agree. i saw the first movie and couldnt understand why everyone loved it. thought i had just missed out on reading it, so i tried to read it and couldnt finish it. then like an idiot i saw the second movie. halfway through, i just got so bored i left.

i really do not understand how those are popular. they dont work on any level except seeing a hot shirtless guy for me.

No offense to anyone who liked it, but I thought it basically was a crass piece of garbage.

The Feast of All Saints, technically it's not a movie but a mini series, but I watched it on DVD so close enough. Loved the book, and though the movie was very pretty to look at, they just should have dropped the accents, horrible, with all the good veteren actors that were in it, it was still over acted, and as beautiful as Moonlight Sonata is, having it played so many times throughout the movie was just damned irritating. Plus, it was weird to see how some areas of detailed were paid attention to but others weren't. The opening sequence was completely unnecessary it was like it became the focus of the story.

I fixed your sentence. biggrin

And yeah, I hated all the others you mentioned (that I've seen). You couldn't keep me awake after the first LOTR and Avatar...James Cameron should've put a bit of the budget aside to buy himself a story. neutral

In all fairness, Twilight doesn't appeal only to lonely female overeaters. There's a lot of fat "bi" goth (cause it's a way to get away with wearing makeup) boys that dress up and go to those movies too. nod

Black Dynamite. Didn't find it as funny as friends hyped it up to be. Actually I found the viral marketing of Black Dynamite (70s PSA/Kid Show spoofs, etc) to be funnier than the film itself.

Shaft (1971)

I saw it last year for the first time with my family and found it a little boring. Even my older relatives who remembered the big impression it made when it was first released agreed it did not age well.

In The Bedroom (2001) starring Sissy Spacek, Sissy Spacek's nose and Tom Wilkinson. Sooo overrated. It's got some great acting and a very realistic portrayal of grief but it just doesn't go anywhere and it was very predictable. I wanted to see it because of the Oscar noms and because it was filmed right here where I live, but it's not something I'd ever see again. And I LOVE character-driven films.
