OK, he's getting a little brave I think. This damn frog has been hiding behind the fountain for more than an hour.

He must be descended from the frogs with which I waged noble war some 10 years ago.

I blasted one of his buddies early on. Easy shot, the hopper was sitting on a water lillie. But this other frog, he's incredibly canny. I have not even glimpsed him once. It's like he knows the flashlight means death.

Well, here we go. I sense he's out in the open. I hope my posting on Prince.org outside isn't giving my position away.

This SOB is mocking me. I can feel it. He's very loud but too cowardly to show his face.

I can't let this go on, because the more he croaks, the more likely his friends will hear it and come over to my pond.

When you think about it, frogs literally are pond scum.

Yeah, thanks for remembering!

Alright! Got a couple shots in! But I don't think I killed him, because there's not a second frog carcass floating anywhere in the pond.

My weapon is the scooping part of a pooper scooper. Not the part that holds the poop, but the sitck that sweeps it in. It's good for flattening blows, but not so good when the frog hides underneath the rock outcropping, which is where this bugger was.

I kind of raked at him in one spot, and then as he scooted along the underside of the rocks towards what he thought was safety, I got in another raking shot. But I really didn't hurt him.

However, I found him underneath another rock and I was able to get in some pretty good shots. It looked like he was sinking at one point, but like I said, I couldn't find his floating corpse anywhere, so I have to assume he's still alive.

But there hasn't been a croak since my first attack.

No, and I wouldn't use them any way. That would mean admitting defeat to a frog, and I will NEVER do that.

I must have got him because all is silent now.

And I re-read my first frog thread. I must say, that was some mighty fine writing by me! I made myself laugh a lot.

Guess what? I just did a recon at the pond. Although the second frog was silent last night, I didn't find his carcass. So I went looking this morning.

I found him hiding in a crevasse. Not sure if he was still alive, but I am sure now!

I hope this is the end of it!
