Only Jesus can change a serial killer and an avowed Satanist into a lover of people and a lover of God

David Berkowitz - Son of Sam

He went from this... Killing six women and completely demented:

Dear Captain Joseph Borrelli,

I am deeply hurt by your calling me a wemon hater. I am not. But I am a monster. I am the 'Son of Sam.' I am a little brat.

When father Sam gets drunk he gets mean. He beats his family. Sometimes he ties me up to the back of the house. Other times he locks me in the garage. Sam loves to drink blood.

'Go out and kill,' commands father Sam.

'Behind our house some rest. Mostly young -- raped and slaughtered -- their blood drained -- just bones now.

Papa Sam keeps me locked in the attic too. I can't get out but I look out the attic window and watch the world go by.

I feel like an outsider. I am on a different wavelength then everybody else -- programmed too kill.

However, to stop me you must kill me. Attention all police: Shoot me first -- shoot to kill or else keep out of my way or you will die!

Papa Sam is old now. He needs some blood to preserve his youth. He has had too many heart attacks. 'Ugh, me hoot, it hurts, sonny boy.'

I miss my pretty princess most of all. She's resting in our ladies house. But I'll see her soon.

I am the 'Monster' -- 'Beelzebub' -- the chubby behemouth.

I love to hunt. Prowling the streets looking for fair game -- tasty meat. The wemon of Queens are prettyist of all. It must be the water they drink. I live for the hunt -- my life. Blood for papa.

Mr. Borrelli, sir, I don't want to kill anymore. No sur, no more but I must, 'honour thy father.'

I want to make love to the world. I love people. I don't belong on earth. Return me to yahoos.

To the people of Queens, I love you. And I want to wish all of you a happy Easter.

May God bless you in this life and in the next.

The answer to IceNine's thread months ago, about what you would do if your neighbor had a dog that wouldn't shut up... smile

One week before the latest Son of Sam murder, a retired city worker named Sam Carr, who lived in Yonkers, N.Y., with his wife and children, received an anonymous letter about his black Labrador, Harvey. The writer was complaining about Harvey's barking. On April 19, two days after the latest murder, another letter in the same handwriting came in the mail:

"I have asked you kindly to stop that dog from howling all day long, yet he continues to do so. I pleaded with you. I told you how this is destroying my family. We have no peace, no rest.

"Now I know what kind of a person you are and what kind of a family you are. You are cruel and inconsiderate. You have no love for any other human beings. Your selfish, Mr. Carr. My life is destroyed now. I have nothing to lose anymore. I can see that there shall be no peace in my life, or my families life until I end yours."

... Ten days later this dog was shot.

Berkowitz in 2002

At his parole hearing in 2002, Berkowitz said that he did not deserve parole. This is an excerpt from his statements, about why he killed:

"It was just my mind was not focused right. I thought I was a soldier for the devil and all kinds of crazy things…I had things like the satanic bible that I was reading. I just got stupid ideas out of it. I’m not pushing the blame on anything. I take full responsibility, but I just – at the time things got twisted.”

He is up for parole again in June of 2004.

To This: He found God.

His official site:

David Berkowitz

"We only run this site to bring Praise and Glory and Honor to our Lord Jesus Christ for the work he is doing in David's life and in the lives of countless others. Only Jesus can change a serial killer and an avowed Satanist into a lover of people and a lover of God."

Do you think that Jesus can change a serial killer for good?

This man doesn't deserve to live after what he did to those victims and how he ruined their famalies lives, I personally know what it's like to lose a family member to crime, my grandfather was shot and killed in 1980 while working at a liquor store, and it still hurts me alot to this day. So I say kill the asshole, just dont let him rot away in jail, were all paying for his ass being there.

Usually to have their parole accepted, I think. I don't know. But, you're right... it seems that eveyrone always finds God when they are in prison.

Berkowitz didn't want his parole granted this last time because he felt that it would be wrong because the families are still in pain. I don't know... we'll see what happens in 2004 when he is up for parole again.

Well, he didn't get the death penalty. He was sentenced to six consecutive 25-years-to-life sentences.

I think he'll probably die in prison. I don't imagine they will let him out.

To answer my own question, no, I do not think that Jesus can change a serial killer. I also do not believe that by "worshipping satan" or reading the Satanic bible that it will turn one into a serial killer.

I do believe, very strongly, that what makes a serial killer is their mind... and that their mind is "off".

Question... Do you believe that the serial killer is attempting to fool us ? ...or believes his own BS... believes he has converted? I agree that i feel they would kill again...

In this case, I believe that he may have converted... or "found" something. I don't think that he is attempting to fool us. I think that the reason that he asked for his parole to be denied is because he probably knows that he would kill again if released, and he probably knew that it wouldn't go through anyway. So, why not say you don't want it and look like a "new man". He may even be truly sorry for the murders... but deep down in there, that serial killer exists. In my opinion, of course.

I do think the he probably follows jesus or god or whatever it is he is doing, and I imagine he finds comfort in it. Which is good, but I don't think that by doing that or by "finding god" that it will change the mentality of a serial killer.

"Berkowitz was sentenced to 25 years to life for each murder, the maximum under state law. But the sentences were to run concurrently so that he would serve the full term for only one murder -- and the full term for 25-to-life is 30 years."

This would mean that he is due for release in 2007, right?

He has "consecutive" life sentences which total 150 years to what I see doing research. He says himself in the site you used as reference in example 2 :

2. I have "consecutive" life sentences which total more then 350 years. I never added up the exact amount, and it is meaningless to do so.

Eligible for parole: 2002

No, I haven't read anything about him... going to do so now.

Has he found Jesus too? Did Jesus save him? smile

That's funny to me, because if that is all it took to rid the world of mass murders and serial killers, just make it law that everyone must attend church and become part of a religion and allow jesus into their hearts.

That's the answer to world peace right there, my dear.
