First of all, Voodoo and Black Magic are two completely different things.

Vodou (commonly known as "Voodoo") is a religion practiced by a few different cultures, but it is most recognized by Haitians. It is a huge, naive misconception that it stems from evil, and that they resurrect the dead and make Satanic dolls. They are a very earthbound religion, using herbs to heal and rituals to their Gods. It is just another religion of the world, and to discount it is like a Christian telling a Hindu they are incorrect because their Gods go by different names.

Black Magic is the art of sending negativity out to the universe, usually for personal gain. Everything on Earth has an equal balance of dark and light, white and black -- if you will. More often than not, the concept of 'Black Magic' is dramatized; huge Satanic rituals (which, Satanism also isn't what most think, but I won't open that can of worms), resulting in curses, misfortune, and things of the like. What needs to be realized, is that people do what could be construded as black magic all the time. For instance, you find out your ex-boyfriend has a new woman. You feel jealousy and animosity. You sit and hope the worst for him, and for their relationship. That is the energy that you put towards the situation into the universe. It is no different from sitting in a candlelit room 'conjuring up negativity'. Negativity will attract negativity -- the most powerful form of 'Black Magic' there is. The universe is a funny thing; people will believe that if they wish or 'pray' enough, they can manifest miracles, but the refuse to believe that the same belief basis can be construded for the negative things.

To automatically connect a religion and the term 'Black Magic' is not only completely incorrect, but it's disrespectful to an entire culture of people.

Agreed. I believe it exists for those who believe. Personally, I choose not to think in those dimensions.
(I'm open to discussions on the actual meaning of these terms, which is what Acrylic was trying to clarify, but I think I get the point of the question)

hmmm... well. i have my theory on my magick. i think its what the person intention behind the spell is what really matters 'cause a white spell can be very destructive. meaning a love spell, even with the most best intention is what is known as black magick because you are manipulating "fate" i dont believe in fate and magick is only interesting to me when reading. i think black and white magick aren't necessary there and magick is just magick. however i can't say that magick is bull shit, magick is real to the person who BELIEVES in magick. so the faith behind your craft is what works...

I believe in the possibility of such things.

There are aspects of this world/universe/existence which we (as lowly humans with a mere few thousand years' worth of social consciousness) can only faintly comprehend.

Is it possible that negative and positive energies can be tapped by people with certain training/faith/talent? Sure! Why not? Anything is possible.

It odesnt matter if I believe in it or not; if the person whom is actually into the craft belives in it...then good for them.

Me however, yes and no. Because I have seen and experiences alot of 'supernatural' things I cannot have a valid opinion if it works or not, because all things are possible with enough meditation and concentration.

Just because you dont see something doesnt mean it does not exsist. So I am Switzerland on the subject because I dont have enough self research.

Lady gaga:

I like the new song alot. More so than Born This Way. The vocal arrangement and bass synth line is intresting and the chorus is funny. I think the love story between Jesus and Judah is thoughtful. If one takes the tune very seriosuly I think it says more about you than it does anything. Im not sure why people are so sensetive when it comes to a fictional take on a religious story. Boo to those types of people.

I don't think people like Gaga's songs as much as they let on. I think they like her imagery and costumes more than anything else.

As for voodoo, or rather what people perceive voodoo to be, what every you truly believe in and put out into the universe by way of negative/positive energy will manifest itself somehow. If you believe you will eventually win the lottery and you play the game everyday then yes, you will win the lottery. If you believe people are out to get you then, yes, somebody will most certainly get you.

I don't however, believe in zombies. hmph!

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
