Slightly closer to dad's, because most of them live in the NYC metro area. My mom's family is in North Carolina. I don't see them often, but thank goodness for Facebook.

Papa was a rolling stone.... he abandoned my mom and his two girls, my sister was two and I was only a year old at the time.

so I met my father when I was 23... I am not close to my dad's side of the family. Heck I am not even close to my younger 1/2 brothers and sister... never-mind my 3 uncles, one aunt and all their kids on my dad's side.

Oh and my grandma on my mom's side of the family stole my grandma's boyfriend on my dad's side of the family... so my grandmother on my dad's side of the family doesn't like my mom because she's the daughter that carries the maiden last name my dad's mother always wanted.

Now I know where my dad got his "asshole" from... no one likes my dad. I tolerate him, but being with him while he brags about scoring and banging various women in trashy hotels is gross and makes me want to run.

So now I am glad my father is whoring himself out in Florida and only drunk calls me to cry and tell me what a jerk he's been to everybody... its the most I can handle.

I'm closer to my mom's side but I can be myself around my dad's side. Both sides are complete opposites.

My mother's side is:

Reliable

Caring

Ambitious

Intellectual

Judgemental

Old Fashioned

Hypocritical

My Dad's side is:

Complacent

Non-supportive

Easy Going

Laid Back

Bottom line: If I want support and nurturing, I get it from my mom's side, if I want to lay back, talk shit and drink beer, then I can do that with my dad's side. lol

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It was always my mother's side of the family which was my grandmother and my grandmother's sisters and their husbands. Every single one of the ones I kept in contact with are dead now so now the only family members I really speak to these days is my brother and one of my sisters.

Andy is a four letter word.

AND THERE YOU GO. My dad's side is JUST LIKE THAT. My mom's side is also accurate. My brother on my mom's side is a mixture of both (he's reliable, caring, ambitious, intellectual, easy-going and laid-back).

Dad's, since that's the side that raised me. Visited my mom's side a couple of times but that's about it.
