but no-one says that Boss Nass or Captain Tarpals are racist.

yet the only difference between them is that the actor that plays Jar Jar is black.

There was a time when Lucas' characters were truly out of this world, but for the prequel trilogy he seems to willing to rely on existing images.

Jar Jar's color was not it. It was his movements, his bug eyes, his dialect, etc. In a previous post, I pointed out that it is the combination of things together that fit all too well.
