Usually I hate them, because they're low budget and it looks like the camera is always bouncing around, however...
There is this one Indepdant film I like it's called partygirl, it's about this barty partygirl who's trying 2 find herself in life and wants 2 become a Librian just 2 impress her bitchy aunt, the charectors r funny, the storyline is cool ... I recomend it 2 anybody [This message was edited Sat Feb 8 22:41:28 PST 2003 by DigitalLisa]

I love them. The Independant Film Channel on cable (and also Sundance, when I still got that..) is one of my favorite channels.

You should check out some of her other films. You'd probably enjoy them, as well.

Define "independent"
There's lots of independent films that don't have the cheap, shaky camera look. I would dare to say most independent films that go anywhere look more like studio films, the difference is their more serious or niche subject matter. People aren't even aware of which films are indie & which aren't b/c by the time you hear about them & they're distributed, many arrive via a studio. Doesn't mean the studio financed the film from the beginning, they just picked it up somewhere in the process. Anyway, love 'em...
