Has she explored other scholarships? Was the money Texas gave her need- or merit-based?

Because she is in the top 10% - which is good, but not valedictorian. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

exactly, a valedictorian im sure is on their way to harvard, yale or stanford.....:-/ so you mean to tell me she cant be recognized at a measly texas private school????

My son went to the public library... the main branch in our town and spoke to an advisor.. who looked up any and all scholarships available to my son.
The fact that you are not wealthy and looking to educate your daughter in her homestate should make it easier for her to get extra funding....
I hope this helps if you haven't tried this yet... go through all poosible scholarships with a fine tooth comb... there may be more help out there for her that you may have mised out on.
Look at different schools too.... the more schools she applies to the better.
The average kids looks at about 25 schools.
My son applied to 12 got accepted to all, but we went with Northeastern University because of the full scholarship package they offered.
Good luck
Oh and my son works at a bakery part time since he was a highschool senior, he pulls 20-30 hour weeks working to pay for books, supplies and clothing for himself. Where there's a will.....

Oh and my son was not at the top 10% of the class... and while working he has maintained his status on the Dean's list two years now... he is a sophmore majoring in biology.
We are in the northeast of the country in Boston... the schools here are EXPENSIVE.
It can be done, if he can do it, so can your girl. I'm rooting for her! Tell her to keep trying and not give up, she will find the avenue she needs to get ahead.
