Fast Five anyone?

Okay, has anyone seen this yet? I just saw it, and it wasn't too bad. A little predictable, but an enjoyable "summer movie" flick, nonetheless. I still understand how Dom's relationship at the end came to be? What, cuz he wanted his shit back? disbelief

This franchise was pretty much dead & buried, so I was surprised to see it get about $84 million in the opening weekend. Let's hope Thor shatters that to pieces this upcoming weekend! So now, of course, they wanna do the 6th one, or at least the director sure does, and they left it wide open with that last scene.

I saw it on Friday night and I loved it.I like it better than all the other Fast and the Furious films. Here's that surprise scene at the ending, which gives you an idea of what the next movie will be about:

Yeah, I caught that last scene, which surprised me a little, because I actually thought this was going to be the last one in this franchise. But, it's obvious they're making room for a 6th, if greenlit. Silly me.

I will say, though, that I agree with you on it being the best of the franchise, except for maybe the first one. But, it definitely blew #2-4 out of the water.

Previously, part 2 was my favorite but this new one has really surprised me.It's better than I thought it would be.I didn't really care for the last one (part 4).

Any predictions on how the next one will be?

The car chase at the end was utterly ridiculous and impossible. I'm cool with suspending reality for a flick, but this shit was ridiculous. It was a decent flick though. I don't know how many more times they can keep the Latino region as a theme though, so they probably won't go there for 6. Rock vs Vin was a good fight scene.

It is funny how they don't even wanna acknowledge Tokyo Drift as being part of the series, but they brought back Han because his character was so likeable and the only saving grace from that god-awful flick.

I enjoyed it but I have to see part 4 again to keep up with part 5. I saw the first one and thought is was hot and somewhere between 2 and 3 I just said "fuck this crap".

The ending with Dom and that cop lady hooking up is strange but I guess because they both lost someone they loved...they find comfort in each other. shrug

$11 million isn't a lot of money when you're on the most wanted list but whatevs.

Yeah, I thought about that too! Though, since they're all rollin' together, I guess it would be a total of $33 million, right? Even so, like you said, they're still wanted, but they're just supposedly in a place with extradition laws. Brian mentioned something about a whole new identity and shit, but how can that be when NOTHING about them had changed. lol

That shows ya just how much I remembered and cared about Tokyo Drift. I still don't really remember. I take it Han died in that one?

I think the whole issue of the new film taking place before 'Tokyo Drift' is confusing to many people.I guess if we were gonna sit down and watch all of these films back-to-back,we would have to watch part 5 before watching part 3?! nuts

THANK YOU! Do the writers and directors not think the audience is smart enough to notice little details like that?

Lol! I guess we weren't supposed to notice that after the feel-good ending montage of everyone getting and using their money and the two primary couples all booed up and whatnot. Also, I wonder how many people died during that whole vault drag chase through the city. They wrecked plenty of offices and stores and cars, so you know there were some casualties outta that. The Rock's character didn't lose his damn job for not getting his man after all of that and then letting the targets go (cuz you KNOW someone filmed something of that exchange on the highway bridge, even if it was with their cell phone camera)??? lol Ahhh, you gotta love these summer movies. I nitpick, but I thought it was action and car-chase film!

I'm also wondering if Eva Mendes had a larger role in the film that was left on the cutting room floor. I wouldn't think they asked her to film just that 30-second scene at the end, but who knows.

now that I've seen it 3 times (don't judge me.. lol ), I am picking up on things here & there...

little plot clues in the dialogue, 2 errors (?) with the safe, the location of the first bridge the train goes over, the driving timing for the 2nd bridge, the position of the last 2 guys killed in the movie..
