I can't believe that this phenomenal dumbass would want to destroy the films that he worked so hard to make... all that stop motion stuff was great... it was perfect just like it was. Now fuckstick wants to replace everything with fucking CGI. CGI sucks donkey cock.

Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean that you SHOULD.

True, but show a kid the original star wars these days, and they'll just laugh at the special effects.

True too, but that is not the point... the Star Wars movies meant a lot to a great many people and his altering the movies is totally unthinkable.

What if George Orwell went back and re-wrote a lot of "1984" and changed it? It would have been an outrage.

Black and white movies were shot with the color scheme in mind...seriously. The lighting, make-up, mood, and vision is of black and white...

Ted Turner is going DOWN... mad

I still don't think the Star Wars movies are significantly altered. Some of the CGI looks wrong...but I suspect this will be fixed up for the final DVD.

Maybe I'm more flexible because I've heard the radio shows, which go into so much more detail (Star Wars was 6 hours long), and because George Lucas said they were the 2nd most canonical, with the novels being 3rd. And then the games. Star Wars is an entire mythology to me; the force a religion. It's not just one movie from 1977. The tweaks seem completely harmless to me...I mean, what, you prefer there to only be 100 storm-troopers in formation on the Death Star instead of 10,000? Even when he wanted 10,000 back in 1977 but couldn't afford it? C'mon!

However, Ted Turner is the antichrist.

Aw c'mon...the CGI looks a little out of place is all, and it's not as good as could be. But it's no worse than some of the effects flaws in the original movie--seeing gray boxes around tie-fighters is NOT cool. I'm really hoping for a fully consistent experience without the 1977 flaws.

Yeah...v2.0
