Oh yes! I forgot about those cheddar biscuits. I'm not crazy about Red Lobster food but those biscuits are the MACK! "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

This thread..
Look, in the greater Chicago Metropolitian Area, Black people are all up in "da Lobster". I dare you to go to any Red Loster in the greater Chicago area and not see black people . .. Black families, Black man and woman on a date ... Just try to get up into Red Lobster on a Sunday, after Black folks have left church.
A lil tongue in cheek.... but a lil' silver lining of truth.
So, in part this is an issue of demographics and what a significant percentage of a group tends to support and spend their cash. We have excellent seafood restaurants in Chi-Town. With the exception of business/lunch hours... around dinner time, 97% of the time my family is the only thang Black up in the restaurant.
...this is so true in the Chi. I thought Pappadeaux would be different but 90% of the folk in there were black when I went. I stopped going to Red Lobster years ago because they are over priced. The food is mediocre. And the atmosphere and service are horrible. LOVE HARD.

Sure, but you can't help or fix that. It's the internet. Anonymity buys them whatever freedom they need to be a bigot.

Interesting you mentioned "Joe's". I remember my niece kept talking about this seafood place named "Joe's" that she had her mother drive her from Pennsylvania to New Jersey to eat there. Never been there, but heard of it. In many areas throughout the New York City 5 boroughs, it depends on what restaurants are close, for those who don't want to drive out to Manhattan, where there are a plethora of restaurants to choose from, but vary in prices from average to very expensive. So like some mentioned here, around graduation time, many young people will to to the most popular/economical and closest ones; for others, they'll choose to drive out further (Manhattan/Long Island); many people go out to City Island where there's many seafood restaurants or down by the seaport in Manhattan, if their choice is seafood. Other than that, there are many family restaurants/diners that people flock to. I live in a very, diverse community, so you will see people from many ethnic groups eating at all types of restaurants in my borough. [Edited 4/30/11 19:09pm]

Really? I've only been to Olive Garden twice, when there was this big deal of one opening in the county I lived in, when I lived in Florida. Food was ok. Their menu seemed to be mainly of Italian-style dishes. My sister loves Italian-style dishes, I'm not too big on that type food, just a few dishes. I'm picky with food, always have been. I do like to experiment with different types of foods though. Now I will eat seafood on an occasional basis. My favorite types of dishes, fall into New Orleans, Caribbean, Mexican, Chinese, Spanish style dishes, probably because of the spicy flavors, but normally will go "mild" on the spices. I like some Chinese dishes as well, but not too much. I don't like eating too many heavy dishes, since I've gotten older. Right now, I like light meals, not too filling, and I'm also into mixing various vegetables/fruits with Almond milk, and making a shake/drink out of it. [Edited 4/30/11 19:22pm]

I think it has more to do with where the Red Lobster is located. I know the Red Lobster i go to in Pineville, NC is heavily populated by whites and even more so on the weekend being near the mall as well. There is always a wait time on the weekend. By contrast drive 25 minutes to another Red Lobster in the city of Charlotte on Central Ave. there are generally more blacks at that location. People act as though Red Lobster is some low budget seafood restaurant. The location i go to always serve pretty good food and is on point but there is nothing like going to a seafood restaurant on the coast i.e Charleston SC, Myrtle Beach SC, Savannah GA. Don't laugh at my funk

I associate stereotyping threads with baiting.
Seriously, when one goes away do others just get a signal to start up? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |
