The Sims

My boyfriend gave me The Sims for Christmas and I think I'm addicted! I can't stop playing with those little gibberish-speaking cyber people!
He also gave me the vacation expansion pack and I haven't even gotten to that yet.
I think I need help! smile

Can you set up their personalities???

It would be great if you could name one "Nep2nes" and imbue them with her less-than-stellar personality traits and see how long it took before someone beat her up.

Yes, you can set up their personalities, but it's limited to things like neatness, playfulness, and niceness. Plus there are no equestrian-type traits, so I don't know if it would work.
There is, however, a little voodoo dolly that you can buy in it's little tiny coffin. You can use it on other members of your household. evillol That might come in handy.

I was looking at that verion on www.thesims.com -- it's pretty different from the PC verison. What is the beam of light that goes from ceiling to floor and ends in a little circle?

I had to uninstall it. sad

It's way too addicting! And you can't leave for any period of time without trouble!

So fun! You actually learn a great deal of organizational, time-management, and how to never have a baby skillz.

Instad of having a mouse like on the computer, it is your direction to give the characters.. just to move then to where they want to go or what to do..

When I first got The Sims I was addicted 2... I just couldn't go through my day without checking on my Sim. It sems like there was always something 2 do, I wanted 2 make more money so I could buy the big mansion on the hill. Even when I wasn't playing on the computer The Sims was on my mind, every time i drove past a house I would think Oh that's a good ideal for my sims house or that house looks just like the house on the Sims lol But u get over the addictive phase believes me ... it gets boring after there's nothing else 2 buy. Whatever u do Just don't get The Sime Hotdate or The Sims Online, cuz then you would really b a sims addict

I was wondering about when I'd get bored with it. I'm sure that once I do everything I can with the sim families I have I'll start setting them up for disaster just to see what happens.

The Sims is great... a license to print money, judging from the amount of Sims-related titles in the game charts for the past year!

The PS2 version is very nice indeed.

I managed to get my missus into playing the PC version of the Sims a while back... she loved it. Until her character's husband died in a tragic accident and then her character spent all her time crying to herself.

As for me, my quest to foster a menage-a-trois relationship goes well... my character is now VERY close to his two special female friends, and the girls are getting very friendly too. It's only a matter of time before they give in.

Actually the Sims Online looks great... have you guys checked it out?

Oh goodness this game ROCKS!!!

I got it for Valentine's day a couple of years and bought every expansion pack there is. I haven't played it in a while because it is very addicting. I use to sit here and play for hours and didn't even notice it.

I remember my girlfriend told me I was into it a little too much because everytime she would come home from work I would start yelling at her for the things her Sims character did.

I travel a lot and I remember I missed this game while traveling and wouldn't do anything but talk about it. I almost went out and bought a laptop just so I could play it while away from home. Even though I needed it for work it was the Sims that really made me want it.

Great see what you started razz Now I must stop everything I'm doing and play it for old times.

Thanks alot and oh yeah Much Love,
LoLinex

P.S. I'm a sucker for all games

I was just checking out some sites on the game and there are so many cool things you can download! (not to mention the cheats pages...heh) So, I guess we needn't worry about getting bored with the game smile

As sad as this is it's TRUE! I now know how to cram furniture into a room and make it all fit as well as be aesthetically pleasing.

Hey apples, have you figured out the money cheat yet? biggrin

when my mother came over to the house and got into a fist fight with my roommate I knew this was the greatest game ever.

when my male roommate got jealous and slapped this chick I was hot on, it only reinforced my original opinion.

Ah the classic Sims is fine, you don't need to bother with the cash-ins I mean expansion packs.

The Online version of the game is the Bomb Diggity! I have played The Sims since it came out. Those Maxis folks really know how to do it! My husband feels that we do not need Playstation2...and he is right so I stick to the Online and the PC versions. It is addictive so time-management is key.
