Life is such a gift... I had a gun to my face once by a coked out family friend that was off his meds...

the next day was un-eventful.... a very bland day.... and it was wonderful!!!

I took that day in the rain and thanked God that I was still here to see my son grow up... so everyday is a very wonderful day... I praise God for it.

Sometimes a bad event helps you to put things in perspective to appreciate even the smallest of moments that are actually quite grand.... like waking your child up in the morning to get him ready for school and starting a busy day. If he pulled the trigger.... it wouldn't be the case. So yeah, the next day after was quite a nice day. I learned to stop bitching then. lol

I can't say that I've ever faced a life-or-death situation...but as a teen travelling down to Honduras and witnessing some pretty horrific poverty gave me a life-changing perspective and often stops me from bitching about "not having money".

If so, what happened during that day that made it so special?

I don't think the best day of my life has happened yet. I (God willing) still have a lot of living left to do.

Seeing each of my brother's kids being born, especially the oldest. I can't describe the feeling of being an uncle for the first time.

I don't think the best day has even happened to me yet. Not even close.

Learning to appreciate what you have is easy when you witness first hand how bad things can be.

I always hope to have great days ahead of me though... hope is a good thing to have all the time.

if you live life looking forward, instead of backwards, you'll see that it's possible that the best day of your life might happen tommorrow.

I don't think that I live my life looking forward these days, but IMO it still might be that my best day did not happen yet. Honestly I don' care much and I could not even say what my best day in life was until now. I had wonderful hours, but I don't think I ever had a perfect day.

When I think about it often when I was extremely happy those very situations later turned into the total opposite cry. And I am not talking about me naively getting involved in situations which I should have known I might have to pay the price sooner or later, but wonderful unexpected things happening to me and then everything totally unexpeceted turns around, like in a bad movie bawl. As if too much happiness just cannot be true. So I guess I am much better off to never be really happy again in my life and not have to deal with the backlash that will follow later as it seems. So I change my answer from above that I hope the best day of my life already happened to me pray.

No.

I am assured that my latter will be greater than my past...and I've had some pretty fly experiences in my life that only dreams and fantasies are made of. It'll be prety neat to see what middle age will bring. coffee
