Ghosts

Does anyone here believe in ghosts? tombstone Have you ever seen one?

I want to hear stories that anyone has about experiences they've had with strange happenings...

Talk amongst yourselves.

Heavenly

I still don't know whether to believe in them or not.
I hear many stories about them, so I'm drawn to believe that they exist, but until I experience it myself, I'll never truly believe. Same with religion.

Therapy

I've heard, rather than see something.

If I saw something, then I would believe, until then, I'm more on the cynical side.

Ghosts do not exist. I find is silly to believe that an ethereal image of a dead person floats around in some sort of visible form. What is even better about it is that people say that ghosts have a "human" appearance, as if the "soul" was somehow bounded by the physical human form.

Silliness. In fact, I don't believe in the existence of a soul or any other sprititual things either.

It all breaks down to human superstition.

IceNine, I think you would change your mind if you had ever visited a house I once lived in with my family in San Francisco nod . Anyone who would ever come over to visit us, always changed their minds after staying with us. Even real skeptics would have to admit later that they saw things and were freaked out.

I won't go into everything that happened in the four years we were there, but we did see two people wandering about, and one of them was a pretty frequent visitor. Him and his little black dog which was also a shadowy figure. Our cats used to chase that thing all around the house. And of course, stuff would move around by itself, chairs would move, we'd hear footsteps and pounding on the walls etc. But it was never an evil or scary presence. We got used to it.

People who came to visit us, still talk about it to this day, and this was about 12 years ago. But, it's hard to convince people about stories like this unless they've experienced it themselves. Just thought I'd share one of my stories. And I'm not nuts or stoned. Of course, who knows if it was a "dead" person, or spirits, or just residue from some other time and place. I believe in ghosts, but I don't know exactly what they are. I just know that it happened. square

It is absolutely for real... he has offered this money for a LONG time and nobody has EVER been able to provide ANY proof at all... many have tried.

Well of course nothing out of the ordinary is ever going to occur on command! We tried to do that when people would come over, and of course they experienced nothing. It was only when you weren't expecting anything, that weird shit would happen. Even my dad admitted that something grabbed his shoulder (which happened to others frequently) while he was reading one night in the bedroom alone. And that's saying a lot if you knew him because he always thought we were all nuts when we would talk about things that were happening to us.

But you know, stuff like that will probably never be
"proved" anyway. I don't care if it ever is proved, I just wouldn't mind that million dollars!

Yeah... here is the good thing though... the Randi Foundation will conduct a LONG experiment! They will hang about and eliminate the possibility of doubt.

You should get with those guys and see about it... a million dollars would go nicely in your bank account! I would, of course, ask for a 5% finder's fee.

yes, I believe in ghosts, spirits, Angels, etc.. If you ever seen a ghost or an Angel, it will be very hard to explain yourself without sounding crazy or loony. Most folks keep it quiet and don't say nothing, like I did.

Yeah well, I don't really care if people think I'm nuts or not. In fact, most people do think that. It makes life more interesting that way square!

I believe that ghosts exist, but I don't believe that they're anything to do with the dead coming back to life. My personal theory is that it's some kind of energy generated by the person(s) who experience it. An energy that we haven't understood as yet, but in the same way that you only know radio waves are around is by tuning your radio into them, I think that this 'energy' can only be tapped into by people when their brains are on a certain wavelength.
That may sound a bit far-fetched, but it's certainly more plausible than the idea of the dead coming back to haunt us.

Incidentally, I've had 3 personal experiences with the supernatural which is where I got my theory from.

Yeah, but how can a rational person believe in something that shows no evidence or proof (physical evidence) at all? Most people won't believe in something if no physical evidence or proof exists.

Well, I personally can believe in it (as well as my entire family) because I have experienced it first hand. I don't need "scientific proof" to tell me whether what I experienced was real. I know it was, whatever it was. If you were walking in the forest, and came upon elves, you would believe in that too, but people would say you were nuts of course. I believe in God, or a Higher power, and I also believe that there's intelligent life beyond our own planet, but I don't have or need proof of it.
