Brandon Marshall

Michi Nogami-Marshall was arrested Friday on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon domestic violence.

Miami Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall was in Broward General in the intensive care unit on Saturday morning after being stabbed with a knife by a woman.

Marshall, who caught 86 passes for 1,014 yards and scored three touchdowns last season, was not seriously hurt, according to a team source, who didn't know details of the altercation that happened at the player's Southwest Ranches residence.

Broward County police records show that Marshall's wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, 26, was arrested Friday by the Broward Sheriff's Office on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

However, it can't be confirmed that she is the woman who stabbed Marshall. The police report had not been made available Saturday morning

"This is a very difficult time for Brandon and his family, thankfully he will make a full recovery. We simply ask during this time we respect his privacy," Marshall's agent, Kennard McGuire, said in a statement.

"Brandon will be OK and is in good spirits preciate the prayers and concerns," tweeted Jaguars receiver Mike Sim-Walker, who has been training with Marshall during the offseason.

Marshall's NFL career has been marred by off-field incidents. He was arrested on multiple occasions and involved in a handful of domestic-related incidents with his ex-girlfriend between 2006 and 2009.

While most of the charges were dismissed, dropped or reduced, Marshall did serve a one-game suspension in 2008. The length of the suspension was shortened from three games by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

This incident could prompt another suspension under the NFL's personal conduct policy.

This isn't the first time Marshall suffered a serious injury during the offseason. During the 2008 offseason he suffered a bad laceration to his arm when smashing through a television set at his home.

Marshall initially said he slipped on a McDonald's wrapper but then admitted he also was involved in "horseplay" with a family member.

Marshall, who attended the University of Central Florida, signed a four-year deal worth $47.5 million last offseason, which featured $24 million guaranteed. He is set to make $6.5 million.

Because of the NFL lockout the Dolphins cannot have official contact with Marshall. A Dolphins spokesman wasn't available for comment.

And how do yo know if Brandon is even guilty for throwing the first hit? For all we know, his wife really is psycho! eek

I know Brandon is no angel based upon previous relationships with his ex-girlfriends, but lets not use his past as an excuse to treat him like "guilty until proven innocent".

When TWO different women try to stab your ass in self defense, he don't get the benefit of the doubt from me. His wife is a psych major whom HE admitted in an interview was helping him deal with his anger issues. HE said that shit. So, I'll guess the shit didn't work.

And yet, Brandon is THE real victim of physical abuse, NOT his wife.

At least my point in more reasonable. No one man OR woman should be laying their hands to cause physical harm to anyone. Plain and simple.

rolleyes Tony, please. How is he the victim if it's "self-defense?" And this isn't the first time or first woman. And the fact that he LIED to the cops and said he "fell on a vase" proves he's hiding something. But keep on giving him the benefit, I'll stick with the side eye. whofarted

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall is recovering on Saturday after authorities say he was stabbed by his wife Michi Nogami-Marshall in the abdomen.

Nogami-Marshall, 26, was arrested Friday night and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; she was released on a $7,500 bail the next day.

According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Marshall, 27, initially told police that he fell onto a broken glass vase, but they did not find blood near the area of the vase. When Nogami-Marshall was arrested, she said that she stabbed her husband out of self defense.

Marshall met Nogami while they were students at Central Florida. They dated for two years before marrying in July 2010.

In March 2009, Marshall was arrested on battery charges after a fight with Nogami, who was then his fiancé. The charges were dropped.

Marshall married Michi Nogami in Miami last July. They met while both were students at Central Florida. They live in Southwest Ranches, which is near the Dolphins' complex in Davie.

A year ago last week, Marshall, 27, was traded to the Dolphins by the Denver Broncos for two second-round draft picks. In Denver, he caught at least 100 passes three consecutive years and twice made the Pro Bowl. Yet he wore out his welcome, in part because of a long legal record.

In March 2009, Marshall was arrested in Atlanta on misdemeanor battery charges stemming from a fight with Nogami-Marshall, who was his fiancee at the time. The charges were dropped when both refused to testify.

Marshall was also involved in a New Year's Eve fight that led to the 2007 drive-by slaying of Broncos teammate Darrent Williams.

Brandon is the "victim" because he isn't the one that got arrest, Michi was. Brandon is the one that ended up in the hospital with a few injuries, NOT Michi.

And if you want to believe that Brandon is "hiding something", you can best believe that Michi is "hiding something" as well. If the whole act was "self-defense" on her part, why didn't Michi tell law enforcers about it BEFORE her arrest? neutral

rolleyes Even when it's a case of self-defense a person can still be arrested and charged. She's already been released. But keep on defending the dude with the long history of beating DIFFERENT women. You REALLY don't read posts before responding do you? It says right there in the part YOU bolded that she DID tell them it was self-defense when she was arrested. disbelief

AND he's already been released from the hospital so obviously it wasn't that serious a cut.

Furthermore, according to this report, SHE immediately told them it was self-defense while that NUT made up a story about being cut by a vase. What stabbing victim makes up a story to protect the stabber, while the stabber admits to doing it? That don't even make sense.

According to the report, Marshall's wife "armed herself with a kitchen knife" and stabbed him in the abdomen. Marshall, 27, gave police a different version of events, claiming he slipped and fell on a broken vase.

"The victim provided sworn testimony advising that he slipped and fell onto a broken glass vase," the report states. "However, the area where the vase was broken indicated no blood within the immediate area to substantiate his claim."

After police read Marshall's wife her Miranda rights, she then stated that she "stabbed the victim out of self-defense," the police reports said.

Broward Sherriff's Office representative Veda Coleman-Wright said the investigation continues. The Dolphins also were taking a similar approach to the incident. A team source said the organization was "gathering information without rushing to judgment."

I'm not defending Brandon OR Michi. I'm only telling you that it's not fair to treat a man (especially a brotha) like "guilty until proven innocent" because of his past legal problems. And beside, public opinion do NOT mean a damn thing compare to the final verdict of the jury.

SCNDLS, you do NOT know all of the facts yet. And I do NOT know all of the facts yet.

Therefore, I wlll not throw Brandon "under the bus" until the whole story with evidences and/or witnesses to back it up. And it's very fair that I do not throw Michi "under the bus" neither (even if she is gold digger, according to some people).

I'm not claiming to know all the facts, but there's MORE than enough info out there from the POLICE reports to make an informed opinion. And I have NO problem throwing a PROVEN woman beater under the bus. Sorry, but he gets ZERO sympathy or benefit of the doubt from me. Like I said, she better than me cuz he sure wouldn't have been leaving the hospital the next day. stab
