Yeah, I've had gay guys come up and talk to me. When I was a teen, some dude freaked me out by following me home and asking me for sex. Twice I've had effeminate Indian/Pakistani guys try to strike up conversation with me...can't say for sure whether they were gay or not, but their approach was questionable.

...and up until recently, NEVER any girls.

However, now that I'm 40, somehow I think that I'm finally becoming "interesting".

There's two (young) twentysomethings @work that I was told through the grapevine "like"me, and a thirtysomething that used to work here recently told me, after finding out about my marital troubles, that "we'd make a good couple".

If I could only get the one woman that I WANT to find me interesting, then all would be good with the world.

I guess it's like that for most men. While most women cannot even count how often they have been hit on openly by men. Men just do that all the time, but it's still very rarely the other way round.

But some men are not aggressive enough. I was walking down the street and this guy stopped his motorcycle and asked if I was John or whoever, and I said no. He asked if I hung out at some club and I said no. A bunch of questions later he says "here's my card anyway." All innocent I said okay, and took the card.

About a year later I said "oooohhhhhhhh!" I honestly did not know he was hitting on me.
