Converting MP4, FLV and/or other video formats to MPEG-2?

Can anybody recommend a way? I tried http://video.online-conve...-to-mpeg-2, but there's a 100MB file-size limit. sad I'm looking to convert a 182MB file.

Thanks!

You could try WinFF. I'm not sure it does mpeg2 but I'm certain it doesn't have any file size limit.

If not you could try Super© - which is absoultely the best free converter there is.

You'll have to navigate your way through to the download as follows:

(while ignoring all the stupid ads for AVS video converter)

- on the first page scroll all the way down to near the bottom and click on "Start Downloading SUPER © right away and discover this fully featured Multimedia Freeware."

- then on page 2 scroll down to and click on "SUPER © is a FREE Multimedia software to download and use"

- on page 3 click on "Download SUPER © setup file from our 3rd dedicated server", and this will start the download of the installer.

I cannot recommend Super© enough - it's the dogs bollocks and the cats pyjamas.

Thanks so much! One question, though: Why would I try WinFF, then? confuse

Eh, good point!

I guess because it can do most conversions and it's quicker than Super©, and you don't have to go through pages of crap to get to the almost hidden download, and it doesn't conflict with anything else, and because it has less options than Super© it's less confusing.

But where Super© comes into it's own is for stuff like this.

I wanted to convert various documentaries etc to watch on my mp3/4 player, and WinFF just can't handle such specific formats with odd frame rates etc.

WinFF in most cases will do everything you need, it's a tiny download and quick installation, so I would've recommended it anyway. But it may not cater for mpeg-2 (it might do, but I don't see it in the options), so I thought I should recommend Super© as well, which definitely does cater for mpeg-2.

Plus, I reckon that converting to mpeg-2 isn't the only conversion requirement you'll ever have, so WinFF is worth having too.

I use both regularly, it's always handy to have options.
