I think what interests this lady most of all is the thought of some monetary compensation wink... more than justice, or preventing this guy from causing further harm, etc.

yeahthat

I will take it one step further and say the whole thing is a set up and these two scrubs knew each other already. What kind of woman goes to a hotel on the first date? The Holiday Inn no less?

They're both tryna come up. Dude will at best go back to the pokey for a few months on some probation violation.

She was on the today show... she isn't asking for money. She claims she would drop the lawsuit as soon as Match.com does change their screening policy. But.... you know I thought the exact same thing.

Shame on ya'll!

A woman gets sexually assaulted and you say that she just wants to get paid??

I thought that society had moved past persecuting the victims of crimes.

lol We've moved past alright....we've moved past thinking that a victim is a victim just because they say so. The hooker that accused the Duke Lacrosse players of rape gave us all an education or sorts. BTW, I hear she is being accused of murder.

I want FB to change its policy on troll I won't sue either; just want them conduct online IQ tests. Anybody scoring less than a 69 is not allowed access.

Totally possible. I expect anything these days [although I admit not being astute enough to think as far as you did:)].

Fishy business practices are rife, and especially in this economy and cut-throat competitive times, I wouldn't be surprised if Match.com was trying to raise a little attention to itself. If so, Mission Accomplished! If the lady in question is indeed not after money for herself [through a lawsuit - please mark my italics!], she certainly achieved the goal of bringing media/public attention to the site. Her being on the "Today" show speaks volumes. And so, this is where her own monetary compensation comes in - from Match.com itself.

Sure, all the skeptics out there, it's just a conjecture. But it's also a possibility:) razz

I think my response to HotGritz here below encapsulates my take on this. But in a nutshell: I would take whatever she tells the media with a pinch of salt:)...
