Have you ever felt lonely?

Have you ever felt real lonely even in a room packed with people?

Why is this, and how do you stop yourself feeling this way?

Definitely. Often. I never really feel like I fit in anywhere, I guess, and that is a lonely feeling.

I wish I knew why, and how to stop feeling that way.

Therapy

Share your feelings with the people you are with... then you will be being open with yourself and they will be with the 'you' that you are at that time and you with them. That will hopefully help you all to bond, too.

More often than I'd like to admit...sometimes it just aches...it's an empty ache.

There's not really a fool-proof remedy for loneliness, but I'd say that talking to loved ones helps me.

Yes, constantly. Most people are fony, i'd rather be alone most of the time, but it does get quite lonely not having an outlet for interesting conversation.

Yes, almost always. I wish I knew how to stop feeling this way. I used to think coming to the org would help, unfortunately sometimes it just makes it worse.
I don't fit in anywhere, never have and probably never will.
If I killed myself today, it would take at least two weeks for anyone to notice, maybe longer. (Well, my cat screaming to be fed might give it away, but I would make arrangements for her before hand.) The only time I'm around the same people is at school and none of them are friends or anything.
Nobody cares, never have, probably never will. I don't even know why I bother anymore.

Sometimes when I'm in a club an overwhelming feeling of loneliness creeps into me. I don't know what it is, all these people are dancing and the music is playing loud, yet I feel alone and sad.

I have rarely had to suffer the feeling of being truly alone. Oh sure, there were nights when I had nothing to do, and wished someone called me to go out and do something fun, but fortunately, I have been blessed with many friends. So I don't entirely know what all of you are feeling. But I will say this:

I remember very well, New Year's 2000, I was by myself at home. That was a HUGE thing (of course), and I celebrated it with nobody. When the clock hit midnight, I just layed on my couch, blank, regretful. It was a very sad and lonely point and time in my life. That year was a hard one.

But it's when we're alone that we truly learn who we are, and when we learn who we are, we are more open to others, and when we are more open to others, we understand others, and when we understand others, we befriend others.

Solitudes: A Guide to the Self. It's an important read. It teaches us, that time by ourselves is truly every bit as important as time with others.

Please, nobody feel lonely. Wanna send an org note to me, about anything, no matter what it is, feel free to do so. I guarantee you I'll reply.
