I'm like Charlotte from SATC with that name she had picked out and embroidered onto a pillow and then her friend took the name, what was it Shaya? Something like that.

I've had the name Shamila planned for a girl, 3 times, but every time ended up with a boy instead

If I get a girl dog or cat or something, I suppose she will be called Shamila

Well, here's hoping one of them has gender dysphoria in the future and you get to rename them.

I just finished a book about Native Americans. They change their name when they become an adult and find one that suits their personality more, like Sings-Like-Doves or Dog-Face.

Also in a Indian (eastern) movie the baby receives a child name and then gets a new one when he grows up.

Well......the OP's profile says he's from San Diego, so...who knows! Wacky Californians - crazy hippies and actors, the whole lot of them!

I just think it's kind of cute that an 18 yr old boy is talking about baby names!

I remember those conversations when I was hanging out with my bff's in high school (or younger)!

My favorite name in the entire world is Elijah. I've wanted that name since I was 11 or 12. It's the name I use on messageboards usually. I love the name Kimber for a girl.
