California Natives

I just moved from San Diego to Mississippi( yeah I know, big downgrade) And people down here always ask me why did I move from Cali, and tell them why, and they always say, " your crazy, there's nothing down here.". And I totally agree haha.

So what is it about California that you adore. For me it's the freedom, the way we dress, the culture and the motherfucking girls.

OMG I tell my friends that too who came from california. It's just pictured to be the perfect state. First of all youre on the mainland and have cities like L.A where there are tons of celebrities. You can surf and still be protected from tsunamis because of...the hawaiian islands. neutral It's so hyped and it seems like everyone has tons of money...plus it's pretty and sometimes looks like las vegas

Oh so you're like about to graduate?

It's interesting you say that. Most families often do move to the South where family is nearby. Lately many northerners and westerners are moving down south. Whenever you ask why it's either being around family or they love the southern hospitality.

Ah. Aging grandparents or something, I take it. I hope they're well.

I have to admit to a Yankee bias. The only place in the South that I've visited and thought I might be remotely happy would be New Orleans... and the caveats even there are pretty obvious.

I do appreciate the South's hospitality, and I think accusations of racism, etc., there are hypocritical. (New England or Upper Appalachian racism, for example, is high art! lol ) But, still, there's something about the North that's just me.

Yeah the South does get a bad rep for racial strife especially looking back over 50 years ago. It's so tight that people often give you images of what they think goes on there and what is really going on is farther from the truth. But I can understand dude's move to Mississippi to be close to aging grandparents. That I can understand.
