Aww, now that wasn't bad now was it? It's a sensitive topic for some, because I guess many Black women just get tired of feeling like a science project and society overall, hasn't always been nice to us over the years, and in general, many Black women take a lot of hateful sh*t from society, and often times the defense mechanism comes out, because..... we're just damn tired of it and will not take it anymore damnit!!...whew lol Glad I got that out...(j/k), but yes, often times we do get laid out like a science project from many within society over certain isssues. It's all good though, we learned many survival and strength tactics from those before us. We'll be just fine. hug

black women are not just sensitive about our hair.....historically a lot of shit has been done that establishes some attitudes towards women of african descent and their hair. It is why videos like this one was necessary:

As an Asian male, I get that.

I mean, we've got moderators like luv4u actually posting on one of those "Asian Male" tribute threads off color comments about small penises, without any retribution whatsoever.

And even today, in America, Asian males still are rarely portrayed as viable sexual partners. Someone once told me in America Black women and Asian men have been regulated to the bottom of the desirability scale, so when there are 'scales' and stuff like that, combating stereotypes is like climbing a mountain.

So I get the sensitivity. But, if we're looking for race baiters, Ace isn't our man.

people get tired of explaining themselves.

Its crazy really, of course you don't relate... but if you were asked ignorant questions all the time and felt you had to "teach" people who claim to be so "understanding" and "culturally aware"... its rude. But many women extend themselves. But why should we have to teach anybody anything?

Its the sense of entitlement that gets tiresome.....

"explain youself to me"

"why is your hair like that?"

"why is your skin like that?"

"why do you think that way?"

why do black women have to cater to white men's fascinations? Its creepy in a sorted way, we shouldn't be forced to explain our existence to white men period.

I did actually have a positive attitude, but some have a poor attitude about women who choose not to explain themselves and right them off as bitches or moody. Women here shouldn't be expected to explain anything about themselves like that

Hair in general is OK, but like I said before... its a slippery slope when you make it about race.

Like Gwyneth Paltrow. I get on some level that she's attractive, but she has zero sex appeal. She looks like she never has sex. If by some regrettable turn of events I were her husband I'd tell her to get naked, then turn my back on her and wank over some porn. I'd warn her strongly about encroaching into my eyeline with her horrid, sexless frame.

I think he's fine to ask, so we disagree. That's a whole lot of unnecessary blather to me. It's not speaking to me or my viewpoint, and I don't think it speaks to where Ace is coming from, from what he's said on this thread, so I'm not sure who it's for. Just seems to be very vague and unnecessarily defensive, put out there to vent or something. Don't answer his questions if you don't like them. Who said you owe anyone anything? wacky

And I answered becaused I wanted to... and if someone questions the intent that should be OK too.

Its when an orger questioned why Ace asked the question on black hair did this thread take a turn because all the sudden that meant that we are moody bitches if we question why someone would be fascinated. It smelled like a bait question since in was about "black hair" not all women's hair. Its bad form.

I already explained that though, fauxie read the thread, and no I am not exaggerating shit, you are being too dismissive... again.

"Ah, these black women with their sensitive attitudes".... yup. Why do you even get on these threads? Just to argue but you add nothing to the topic at hand.

I see some people take the thread the way I personally think it was meant to be taken, and answering accordingly. A few members, a minority, seem to read things differently, so we end up here. 'Moody bitches'? First time I've seen that here was in your post. Not sure what to make of that, then. I just don't think the thread is bait in any way. I think it's an honest, curious question and don't think there's anything wrong with it. When ppl start saying things like 'sense of entitlement' or 'white mens' fascinations' it leaves me scratching my head as to where that sentiment comes from. It's in the replies, not the OP's original conceit of the thread, I think. It's like pre-emptive defence of something not even under attack. He just asked black women on the org about their hair.

Absurd. Is that how I should be thinking when I post, rather than about individuals? Should I get you to ask around and check with the darker skinned ladies and get back to me? disbelief I'd hate to say that in my opinion Ace's thread isn't bait, only to find all black women don't give a fuck what I think about them as a result. I must've forgotten to turn on my 'orging with black woman' mode before I posted? Tell me what exactly my attitude is in so far as how it relates to black women? As I said, absurd. Dude asked about your hair, is all. shrug

I can relate. It's really sad what has been going on here, but I guess it's no surprise. This thread that started as a nice discussion between open-minded people turned into the typical P&R thread.
