Are you afraid of the dark? Can you sleep in total darkness or do you need a nigh-light? I find that my fear of the dark is especially heightened after I see a "scary" movie, which is probably why I wait until some films are eons old before I see them. Fear is not just an age thing...your mind can run away with you at all stages in life...

I find total darkness okay. It's partial darkness that I don't like. Those shadows cast by the nightlight, that shirt hanging on the wardrobe door... When you're half-asleep, these things become extremely spooky.
