WORD!!! That's really amazing! What will you be specializing in?
[Edited 4/7/11 15:40pm]
I'm a high school Special Ed teacher.
I majored in "Social & Philosophical Foundations of Education"... I chose Sociology under that umbrella.
I wrote my Dissertation on the effects of No Child Left Behind on Special Education teachers and ultimately, their students.
Right now I feel that I can do the most good by continuing to work with the kids I have...
You're awesome!! I teach and SDC ASC class at a high school in Oakland! This is actually my first year, and I love it, but am a bit overwhelmed by the paperwork...My daughter has a disability so I have a very personal interest in the rights of students!!
I may have to bug you with questions off line from time to time:-P |

I have another girl friend who has her doctorate in education, but she rarely uses her title. I remember when she got hers years ago (we're old broads), I introduced her to someone as "Dr." and she said, "Girl, please!" I told her if I had earned a doctorate, I damn sure would use the title professionally. My grandfather had his Ph.D. in sociology, and people always addressed him as Dr. Gomillion (but then again, that was back in the day when a black man earning a doctorate was something to be revered among southern blacks.) |

Thank you both!
It's still sinking in... I guess it will depend on the situation.
