My friends smile

a dear friend of almost 20 yrs called me a few days ago to tell me she has cancer, has to have full hysterectomy and she & her bf won't be able to start the family they were planning on trying to start next year (her sister offered to be surrogate & carry, but.. the surgery is scheduled in a couple of weeks and there isn't time [or $$$] to harvest her eggs).

sad

All I care about is that she's here.. you know? That all of my friends are here, alive.

I am thankful that, after three tries (and four trips to various hardware megastores), I finally have a showerhead I like. Sweetie's thankful, too - because he was the one putting all of them up. lol

I am also thankful that it's Friday - and that tomorrow will be warm enough that I have a 1:22 tee time (first round of the season). Also, that we're supposed to get some pretty good thunderstorms on Sunday - so I may have a chance to file my first report as an official weather spotter. geek

Patience.

My wife's pissed me off something chronic today, but I have to be in control, step back and see what's best for us and have the patience to deal with it without letting my pride make me lash out because I've been wronged and try to get some kind of moral satisfaction/vengeance. I'm thankful today for the patience not to do that, but instead do what I think is ultimately for the best in the long run. smile

I'm thankful that I have such great relationships my stepchildren. My stepson was home for the weekend and asked if he could move back in with us while he finishes his last year of college, starting in the fall. He will move back this summer so he will be able to help hubby with farming, etc. He's a hard working kid and a small town boy at heart. We're thrilled biggrin
