How do I refill a Emperor Pepper Mill? Anyone?

Cole & Mason Cole and Mason Emperor Pepper Mill 6

Cole & Mason Cole and Mason Emperor Pepper Mill 6

$13 online

Simply grasp the ergonomically correct shaker in your hand, and squeeze for freshly ground salt, or pepper. It doesn't get any easier than this.

This is what it looks like, but I have no idea how to refill it. I have a set, one salt, one pepper. They do not appear to twist off and I do not want to break it trying. It was a gift and I don't have the box or any instructions. ????
Thanx in advance.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

shrug I did some quick searches and faq checking but I couldn't find anything. Judging by the pictures I've found, if they don't twist apart I'd look for a screw (or a release) in the bottom of the grinder. Also, what is that clear circle on the round part at the bottom (does yours have that)? Could be a release mechanism.

I've got one set that can only be refilled by removing a nut on the top and one set that twists apart, but I don't have anything like these to use as an example.

Thanx. I did the same online search.

It looks like it would twist off but I can see any threads and I don't want to break it trying that.

I was hoping someone had a set.

muahahha :evil laugh: even superman can't open it!!!

there is a oblong shaped sliding "door" on the ball part of them, it slides down towards the bottom (where the pepper comes out) and opens up to refill, they sometimes open easy and sometimes not. just put your thumb on the "door" and slide it down, you might have to use brute force, good luck!!!!

Random thought; does anything you are trying feel any different if you squeeze the trigger at the same time? Like, maybe that releases a lock or something that allows it to open.

Edit: Because thought has a t on the end of it.

I dreaded putting my reputation at risk but brute force . . .

It would open it but it wouldn't be of further use. lol

I've been trying that "door" forever. It won't give.

It disturbs me that it's been nearly 24 hours, and a community of people from all over the world cannot open a pepper mill. neutral

That said... I've got no ideas either. shrug
