Whenever do I projects out in the outlying provinces here, I sometimes go 5 days without my computer. It helps that my routine is different though.

If I had the same daily routine but my computer died or needed repair, I'd probably be absolutely

miserable. Luckily I own a mac though.

Uhh, yeah. I do it regularly. Often for days at a time. I really enjoy sitting here with the windows open with some soft music playing while I get completely lost in a book. If the internet suddenly stopped working forever I would miss some people that I only know there, but I wouldn't miss the internet itself. I mean, shit, maybe more people would start going to record stores again. biggrin

so, the general consensus is that it's desirable to be able to switch off cool that people are cool and more in control if they are more detached from their gizmos? and if you spend hours on Facebook you are vain and attention whorish losers, am I right? lol

^That is not funny. Not funny at all. For far too long has the human race mocked avians. A time of reckoning is coming.

I've never said anything like that and I detest Facebook. I just think its a complete and total waste of time that they've done a damn fine job convincing people they need. NOBODY needs it. Facebook is not a necessity. It does not actually improve your life in any way. Its no different than MySpace was, other than the fact that it makes you less individualistic with its programming.

The internet has done a lot of good in the last (nearly) twenty years. Social networking is not one of those things, imo.
