the origin of "smooshing" surely this didn't start with Mike the situation, and nicole "snooki" polizzi....did it???
when did you first hear "smooshing" used as another word for boffing?

Like most of the shit they wear, say, buy and spew, it's a bastardized version of something that started in urban culture.
People in the hood and elsewhere have been saying "smash" to mean sex since at least 6-8 years ago.
I guess the guido version is "smoosh."

This. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

when i think 'smoosh', i'm generally thinking of something i'd do to a mosquito that landed on my skin, or something i'd do to butter before adding it to the ret of the cake mix....

And it's pronounced with a "short" double-o sound - so it rhymes with "push." We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I've heard of "smooching" as in kissing...is this the same thing or different? "not a fan"

Yeah, exactly. Years ago it was "smash" or "smashing uglies". Now it's a bunch of uglies saying "smoosh".

well shit, 20 years ago it was "bumping uglies" "not a fan"

That clearified the whole thread for me. Never heard of 'boffing' nor 'shmooshing'.
So, can you teach me more about American culture by explaining the next line up of words for me:
- Mike the situation, and nicole "snooki" polizzi -
Thanks. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

ok...american mtv put 6 or 7 single people in a house on the beach, and called it "jersey shore". each member has their own special qualities. Mike the situation...he has a 6 pack. snooki...she's short..and gets drunk alot. jwoww...has big boobs. Ronny...has big muscles, and a small brain. sammy sweetheart...she's the pretty one. Pauly D...he's got a funny accent and funny hair. they're all now close to being millionaires as a result of living in a fishbowl for 2 months.
