What should I expect? Besides nothing! Seinfeld

I'm fairly new to Seinfeld, pretty much ignored it during the 90's but after I read where TV Guide rated it the best show ever I thought I would check it out. I started with Season 1 and went forward from there. I've really enjoy it. I didn't overtake my all time favorite MASH, but that's ok. So tonight I'm going to watch the infamous finale. What should I expect beside nothing?

good stuff, maynard. it's pretty dependably funny. the infamous finale was quite controversial. i didn't dislike it back in the day.

A lot of fun! That's all I can say without giving anything up.

Let us know what your favorite line was after you watch it. Mine was...well, I'll tell you later!

I didn't really like it (the finale) when it aired, but the more I watch it, the more I like it.

They did a great job, IMHO.

The finale makes sense, but it is not terribly funny.

I've seen every episode of Seinfeld except the finale.

At the time I recorded it because I was working late and then lent my VHS tape to a co-worker before I could watch it because she had some kind of VCR emergency and no videocassette at the office. (I don't remember why I had the finale VHS on me.) I told her the tape was already in place for her to record her show (after the finale of course), but she rewound the tape to the beginning and taped over it. neutral I've since read what happened in the last episode and I'm over Seinfeld now so I don't care anymore, but back then I was angry!

You've graduated. Now it's time to enter into your "Curb" phase.

From season 1. No skipping!

I think the whole last season lost a bit of magic when Larry David stopped writing for the show.

And I agree, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" should be on the "to-do-list", its the only natural thing to do for a Seinfeld fan lol

Well finally got home after midnight, didn't plan on it, I usually start my Seinfeld's around 10:00pm, thought about delaying the finale a day but was too excited and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep anyway so I watched it.

I enjoyed it. Kinda soaked up every scene knowing that this is it. I liked how the "New York 4" finally got what they had coming to them. As a finale, I think it was well done. A good ending to it all.

Now i'm gonna go back and watch all the episodes again (bout 2 a night), but this time with the "notes about nothing" ON! Should be a blast.

As far as my favorite quote, can't remember to much right now, it's probably "The second button is the key button. It literally makes or breaks the shirt. Look at it. It's too high. It's in no-man's land."

also

"Why would we want to help somebody? That's what nuns and Red Cross workers are for."

What's different about Seinfeld is that the characters never evolved. Nobody got married or had a baby or moved away or anything. Also noticed that there never was a serious episode or a serious scene.

I hated the finale and haven't watched it a second time since it first aired. I don't think "hate" is strong enough to describe how I felt watching the finale.

But as mentioned, the reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm was brilliant. Loved it.

I agree . Although , I do not hate it. It just wasn't funny. I think the repeat of all their odd characters and situations was a symbol that the show ran out of ideas. A symbol yes, but funny no.

I would give Frasier the best ending for a sitcom and Will & Grace a close second.
