FRIED CHICKEN, FLAVA FLAV, AND BOUNCE CHECKS: A LOVE STORY!

falloff cloud9 I love a good celebrity cash poor story.

Flavor Flav's Employees Claim Paychecks Bounced

http://www.tmz.com/2011/0...nton-iowa/

Employees of Flavor Flav's Chicken say their paychecks are bouncing all over town, but Flav says the disgruntled people are just "jealous" and want him out of town.

A number of people told WQAD in Clinton, IA they couldn't cash their checks, with one being for only $150. One employee claims she even went to the bank the check was issued from, but even they wouldn't cash it!

Co-owner Nick Cimino told the station thy had a "credit card glitch" at one point, but everything is fine now. He also chalked it up to disgruntled ex employees.

Flav himself said, "It's not true information, first of all. And second of all, maybe these are people that's just jealous of me being here and probably want to see me out. Yes, we do have money in our accounts."

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Damn shame that a $150 check is no good.

Two months ago, Flavor Flav's Chicken opened in Clinton, Iowa drawing national attention. Friday, the restaurant held it's official grand opening but some say it wasn't so grand as employees are coming forward saying their paychecks are bouncing.

"My check was only $150 and they couldn't even cash it," said Flavor Flav's chicken employee Kelly Butler.

Both Kelly Butler and Kim Kostka say the owner of Flavor Flav's Chicken, Nick Cimino, owes them three weeks of pay after their checks bounced.

"The money I did have left over in my account has gone to the bouncing checks," said employee Kim Kostka.

Kelly says after several banks refused to cash her pay check she drove to Freedom bank in Rock Falls where the account is held. But even they wouldn't cash the check, instead they gave her this notarized letter saying the funds are unavailable

"If he can't pay his employees why should we give our time for him to make money?" said Kelly Butler.

At Friday's grand opening celebration, both Nick Cimino and Flavor Flav himself responded.

"It's not true information first of all and second of all maybe these are people that's just jealous of me being here and probably want to see me out," said Flavor Flav who went on to say, "Yes, we do have money in our accounts."

"We had a little glitch in the credit cards, we had a couple that did bounce that happens to any new business," said Cimino who also said, "We stopped taking credit cards as soon as I found out."

Nick Cimino says he recently fired between 15 and 20 employees for various reasons, and says this is simply a case of disgruntled former employees trying to get back at him.

"Employees are going to say whatever they need to say especially after you fire them" said Cimino.

Other employees who didn't want to be identified have also come forward saying their checks have bounced. Though, Nick Cimino and Flavor Flav insist all employees have been paid, they say they haven't and also weren't fired.

"They're closing our accounts on Friday and now I'm screwed, I can't pay my rent, can't pay my bills" said Kim Kostka.

"Employees are paid in full," said Flavor Flav.

Flavor Flav plans on being in Clinton until April 8th, when he is also scheduled to make an appearance with the Clinton Lumberkings, throwing out the first pitch
