She should have been blessed with another ten years. Great actress and a great person. She will be missed. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I'm starting to think deaths are just coincidences that happen every other day. I'm doubting that death in threes thing especially in the public eye. RIP to Geraldine Ferraro by the way.

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was born in Hampstead, London, on Feb. 27, 1932, to art dealer Francis Taylor and Sara, a former stage actress.
Her unique beauty inspired her mother to put her into show business, and by age 3 Elizabeth was taking ballet lessons. "I never could kick up my heels like other kids; there were too many restraints," Taylor wrote in her 1988 memoir Elizabeth Takes Off. "My life was overscheduled and overdisciplined."

In newly revealed love letters, a 17 year-old Elizabeth Taylor shared her dreams with her fiance before later agonizing about returning an engagement ring when the relationship soured.
The handwritten letters are from 1949, when Taylor was engaged to William Pawley Jr, who was in his 20s and the son of a wealthy American businessman and ambassador [to Brazil].
There are 66 letters from Taylor and 20 letters from her mother, who told Pawley to leave her daughter alone when the engagement ended, said Bobby Livingston, vice president of sales and marketing at RR Auction.
The auction was scheduled before Taylor died and the items had been expected to sell for $25,000 to $30,000, but that figure is likely to rise, Livingston said.

Elizabeth Taylor Worth Up to $1 Billion at Time of Death March 29, 2011
Elizabeth Taylor was worth somewhere between $600 million and $1 billion at the time of her death, according to media reports. Taylor is said to have earned most of her money from smart business deals, including her Elizabeth Arden fragrances White Diamonds and Passion.
Late last week, the cosmetics company said it will continue to produce the perfumes, which have generated $1 billion in sales since 1991.
Meanwhile, her jewelry collection was said to be worth a $150 million in 2002. The collection reportedly will be auctioned off, with most of the proceeds going to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and amfAR, the AIDS charity she helped found in 1985. Court filings indicate, the actress, who died Wednesday at age 79, was worth $608.4 million when she divorced her last husband, Larry Fortensky, in 1996.

^^^^ I hate those things, especially in the age of the internet. They're a huge waste of natural resources and they tend to only put money in the pocket of the publisher(s). Seems like a pretty obvious cash in on the dead persons fame. I didn't used to feel that way, but as I've got older I've just grown to really, REALLY hate them.

"Tribute" magazine, opportunistic? Maybe.
You do have people who collect memorabilia so they may not look at as chessy. They have an Elizabeth Tribute App for sale ($1.99) over at iTunes. Who would've ever thought.... I didn't.

[img:$uid]http://i54.tinypic.com/33lknf5.jpg[/img:$uid] Warhol Painting Up For Auction March 30, 2011
A portrait of Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor by Andy Warhol will go under the hammer in New York on May 12 and is expected to fetch as much as $30 million, auctioneers Phillips de Pury said.
"Liz #5" was painted in 1963 and is "a dazzling tribute to Elizabeth Taylor," the auction house said in a statement.
"Liz #5 is a pristine gem," said Michael McGinnis, head of contemporary art at Phillips de Pury. "It is Warhol at his very best with a perfect screen, glowing colors, and impeccable provenance. She is classic yet every bit as cutting edge as she was when Warhol painted her nearly 50 years ago."
According to the company, the portrait "embodies the most important themes of Warhol's oeuvre including celebrity, wealth, scandal, sex, death and Hollywood.
"The epitome of old-world Hollywood style and glamour, Liz Taylor was one of Warhol's most famous inspirations alongside Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy."
The painting is estimated to be worth $20-30 million.
British actor Hugh Grant sold a Warhol portrait of Taylor in New York in 2007 for $23.6 million, several times what he paid for the work.
