Have any of you ever heard of Pulis? I am dog-sitting a Puli now; she's a cute dog (even though she barks a lot). I have to put her food in my hand and she eats the food off my fingers.

I just got a new foster puppy named Bella. She's a 6 month old puppy and too freakin' precious but skinny. So I gotta fatten her up while she's here. She gets spayed on Monday then she'll be ready for adoption.

Glad that someone else has heard of Pulis. Honestly, I had never heard of this breed before, until this week.

That's awesome that you have a foster puppy. I would have a tough time giving a foster puppy up. I would want to keep it for myself.

^ How do you clean them? Wouldn't that hair/fur get matted? What about fleas? These are questions I have about long haired dogs in general. I've only ever had short haired pups. I imagine that the pulis are a bitch to groom. Look at that doggy...he can't even see!

My dog, Lana, is a chow/german shepherd/collie/???? something else mix. She has somewhat long hair but it's SO thick. I have to brush her every day or it's mat city! She is just so cute though and we adopted her from the pound last year. She has been abused by two families so we luv her to pieces ! I will post a pic when I get a chance.

those ones with hair that keeps growing - like poodles (possibly Pulis too?) don't really shed.

You would treat the fleas same as any other dog, with that line on stuff every month if you see fleas on their skin (the fleas aren't hanging around on the ends of the fur, but at the roots), and regular baths. We've had a horrid humid and wet summer and the vet told me EVERYONE had a flea problem and it had not been this bad in 30 years.

I think I've heard of them called Rasta Dogs or sumthin.

Yeah, I love the fostering and it's easier to let them go cuz we find them great homes and I need to make room for the next doggie in need.
