The responses on this thread and the actions being discussed should make it readily apparent that most people just don't give a shit about anything but themselves. That's not a judgment, nor is it meant to be disparaging, its just the world we live in. Unfortunately, that makes the people who do care, or try to care, come off like they're trying to get in other people's business when most of the time that is simply NOT the case. I have no desire to limit anyones personal freedoms (in fact I'm very much against such things). But in my opinion, a lot of people need a refresher course in manners and etiquette relating to being in public. Most of your personal freedoms really don't extend beyond your front door. There are rules, regulations and laws to that affect (not to mention plain old common sense). Once upon a time people knew and cared about such things. These days, not so much.
Steps down from soap box.
Caveat: That lady was super dumbah for saying what she did to the woman eating the food. If it bothered her that much she could have nicely mentioned that eating on public transit is a) against the rules because, b) it does affect the people around you. And at that point, regardless of what kind of response she got in return, she should have left it alone. She's not the PT police and her initial insult was TOTALLY uncalled for.

I remember my sister, 3 cousins and I were on the train on our way home and our car was empty and there was this old man that got on. My sister 2 of my cousins and I were sitting in seats next to eachother and my other cousin sat across from us, so this dude came and stood right next to my face and I'm thinking why is this man over here and there are 100 other empty seats here. He then proceeds to sit right next to my cousin that was sitting across from us and then I saw his zipper down {and thank the lord I didn't see that mans' shaboinker} and I immediately knew what was up, so I'm sitting there like Bernie Mac thinking "Bust a move...BUST A MUTHAFUCKIN' MOVE!!!" but he didn't and we got off before he got off if you catch my drift. People are interesting but I know we would've jumped his ole ass if he whipped it out and commenced to beating his meat in front of us. surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years...
