I really am. lol

I always keep at least one at the top of the Netflix queue cause sometimes I have to use it to bribe Ron into watching something artsy-fartsier. So I'll be like "Come on, I sat through so-and-so last night!" mad

shhh

No way! They are old and conservative. I've pushed the envelope a bit in the past, but now will only watch movies that I feel are relatively mild in terms of sex and violence. My mum didn't even like Milk. She thought all the gay stuff was too in your face. confused

Heartbeats (2010)

two best friends fall into a love triangle with a stranger guy. a pretty straight forward storyline but with some real hip film-making. so artistic.

It was also a pleasant surprise to find that director Xavier Dolan, who also wrote the film & starred in it (he's on the poster), is only 22 years old.

having enjoyed this, I'm definitely going to get his directorial debut I Killed My Mother, which I read was also met with very positive reviews.

"what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

It was my brother who talked my parents into getting the projector. He's really into blu-ray and HD in general. He even has a 3D TV. This is what my parents' basement setup looks like:

Dynamite movie! I'd go five out of five on this one too.

Had my mom in for the weekend for mother's day and we watched quite a few movies together.

Shock Corridor (1963) - star star star out of five. Some pretty racy stuff going on dialogue wise (expecially for 1963) but I could see the end coming from 4 million miles away and some of the inner monolgue stuff was just downright silly. Worth a rental.

Soylent Green (1973) - star star star star This one may be more of a guilty pleasure than anything. Charlton heston and Edward G Robinson in his last role. Sci-fi ish/armageddon kind of movie that I really enjoyed. I used to love a tv show in the late 90's called Millenium. I now understand the password......

Five Easy Pieces (1970) - star star star star jack Nicholson in an early role plays a man who is in a way soul searching, but not trying very hard. Not too much going on plot wise but I really enjoyed this one.

That's a 90"+ screen I think.

That was indeed Good Night, and Good Luck in the photo which I took last year. Good eye!

Beyond horrible, but I gave it one star because Paul Walker is in it.

7/10 (9/10, if it didn't have such a dumb-ass, cheese-fest Hollywood ending)

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

morningsong

Finally saw Black Swan and King's Speech. I liked King's Speech better will see it again, liked it a lot better. Though I liked Black Swan, I wasn't exactly dazzled, why was Natalie frowning all the time, a frowning ballerina is a perfect white swan, frowning stressfully equals innocent, ok looks old to me, but what do I know. I got Mila making a better black swan, being all free spirited and all, but...anyway, outside of that it was a pretty good movie, different at least. It made me want to see Turning Point again, see if it says "ballerinas are crazy as hell" too, I don't remember it's been a while.
