I'm 18, And I Dont Have My Learners Permit Yet

Do I have to have a learners permit before I get my actuall license? What type of test do I have to past to get my drivers license?

Sidenote: I want a 1964 Mustang as my first car.

It's different in each state, but normally:

1. Eye Exam (corrective vision-wear allowed)

2. Written test (normally on a computer now)

3. driving test (you may have to take it more than once if you fail it the first time)--normally involves a 3-point turn, stop-and-go driving, attention to road-signs, indicating, and overall temperament.

Do you do all this in one day?

It took me a little less than 2 hours, I think. It was really quick.

But I'm very very very smart, and absolutely flawless in my execution.

The way it works in Wisconsin is, you take the written test and, provided you pass, you get a learner's permit. Then, you have to take "behind the wheel" - driving for so many hours and observing for so many hours. And then, you can take the driving test.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
