The Adjustment Bureau So I saw this last night. Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are really pretty, and they're actually very good actors. In fact, all the actors in the movie are quite good. And, the way the film is shot is quite good--I loved the cinematography and the colors used and the vividness of the shots.
But still...meh.

I loved the storyline. Matt & Emily just did not have any chemistry and I thought Matt was too basic to be with an emotional actress like that. It just seemed a bit off in a pair.
The movie has a very spiritual overtone that I enjoyed. Too much romance, I was not expeecting that. It was like a light version of Inception.

I love the idea of comprising a story on free will vs determined lives.
Today I was reading about William James again today. I'm so impressed by his thinking; the James-Lange theory, his ideas on individuality vs social pressure, free will vs dermination. A few years ago, I've read Walden 2, and nowadays those issues are still unresolved, however fundamentally important. I also found out he was under protection of the great Waldo Emerson, who knew Thoreau personally! All these great thinkers.
I'm sorry, that was off topic. I'm into that subject at the moment, so would love to see the movie. Even without chemistry between the lead actors. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%. | |
