What is the most that you have spent on something frivolous?

Something that you might use,but you don't necesssarily need,or if you do need it,you really don't have to spend that much on it,cause there are cheaper options? hmmm

ie- You see a purse that is really nice, and you do actually need one,but it's expensive. You buy it anyway, even though you could have gotten a cheaper one.

$6000 on something that was a totally spontaneous purchase, absolutely not needed and in the end never really used.

I spent $300 on Deniece Williams' "Niecy" Japan import CD about 8 years ago. Only to have it be reissued for $10 last year. disbelief

hmmm

I can't say that I really spend money on frivolous things.

But I did spend $32/month for about 18 months on a gym membership that I didn't use.

Does that count?

eek eek eek

I have to ask. What was it??

I can't think of anything frivolous I've ever bought that cost more than a few dollars. Unless overspending on eating out counts.

It's what you make it.

I got a student loan my sophomore year in college. I paid for the first semester and then took the rest of the loan and went out to Best Buy and got the most expensive stereo I could, plus a bunch of CDs.

When the second semester rolled around, I was working two jobs and wondering where the hell all the money was.

I once dropped $900 on a 1976 Mercedes 280e fixer upper.

My old neighbor would buy late model luxury imports on eBay and flip them. In a fit of I dunno what, I decided I'd buy the Mercedes from him and save money by fixing it up myself -- perhaps the second most delusional thing I ever did. duh I know squat about cars, and when I realized how expensive it'd be to make that thing drivable, it was clear I never should have bought it. I ultimately had to junk it without so much as driving it around the block.

Probably fitness supplements, like creatine, whey protein, that kinda thing. Probably spend $100 a month, which over here is quite a lot (equivalent to rent for some folks), when really I should just eat more. lol

Paid about $150 for this:

Basically, it's the only release that has the original version of the song "I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto" on it, which was later remixed and became a hit after 'Pac died. So, it's a much coveted item.

It all balances itself out. 2Pac's "Euphanasia" personal business card that I have is worth a lot more, and I gotit for free as a gift from his brother, so... biggrin

Only about a thousand Euro ($1200). One day I just hopped a plane and went to Tuscany for a few days. I flew to Pisa, then took a train to the Tuscan countryside (the train ride is pretty short, and actually only 8 euro bucks) it's only about a 2 hour flight so it wasn't so bad. I don't regret it at all and wish I could do that more often at the drop of a hat.

thumbs up!

I wouldn't consider that "frivolous" though. An experience like that enriches your life. nod
