COMPLETELY fenced in...

the one by the school is fine... but the other across the street if chocked full of dogshit.

WTF... where do I garden now? The shool's garden has been planted, the only thing left are the boxes-we are planning strawberries for them and my spearamint seedlings (which are NOT germinating mad) and stevia seedlings...

the shitty garden (raised boxes) was tomatoes, peppers, squashes, eggplant...

and some various hostas, fern and huchera for the shadier spots under the trees. sad

Its a public garden... I oversaw them last year, but now... WTH?

See now, I never had issues with forcythia (sp?) being invasive. We had them when we lived by Philly. And I let them be the bushy way rather than when folk trim them like hedges. I'd just cut it back a bit each year.

My mom is spaychul sigh

she likes the "jungle" look... so when I would come to visit the forcynthia was over 15ft tall and all over the place... a mess!

We tamed them though... they are so full of yellow blooms now love

I use it to make fresh tea usually ~ already made 2 batches ~~ it relaxes me when stressed i just crush some in my hands and smell it then eat it ~ good for the tummy

I have used it for a touch of different in a glass of wine

you can chew up a wad and put it on bug bites ~ it has many different uses and easy to grow and comes back better each year

Here's the Roma tomato seedlings. Do I need to separate these now?

I feel guilty for the ones I pull out. lol I was gonna put them in the yard this weekend. Or are they too small still?

Beautiful!

love

Definitely thin them now. Not sure about putting them out. Have you hardened them off yet? That's recommended as opposed to just setting them right outside all at once.

It's what you make it.

OOH! I didn't know it was called "hardening" lurking but last week I put the whole tray out a few days for a few hours. nod I will do the same for the remainder of this week. Are you not sure about putting them out in the garden because of their size or the hardening?

I might get a few (more mature) tomato plants to put in the garden this weekend. And maybe eggplant. hmmm

hmmm all the herbs I know of like sunny spots... but mints can grow virtually anywhere!

I like the Lord's Wood... giggle

shade loving plants:

bleeding hearts, columbine, hostas, astilbe, dranculus vulgarus, calla lilly, toad lilly, ferns, pitcher plants, lilly of the valley.... other plants are part shade/sun.

I was able to do a beautiful blue&white shade garden..

nothing I know of yet that is ever blooming for shade.... all shade plants bloom for a short period so now I focus on foliage when dealing with shadier spots. I'm into leaves...

John, dahling. Are you gonna have enough space in your yard for corn? You know that shit grows about 5 feet high and needs sun all day long. And with my babies traipsing through, you won't have nay stalk! lol

You need to quit frontin. You know you growing weed! razz

Yeah, you can thin them. Usually the scrawnier looking ones. But don't forget, hon. Tomato plants can get real leggy and tall so you have to stake them, and they can take up a lot of space. So don't crowd thembecause when they start to grow and don't get enough air circulation, they will rot on the vine.

I've grown tomatoes before but just in pots. I'll be sure not to crowd them. This weekend I think I'm gonna be turning more dirt in the yard for plants. Damn I shoulda got that tiller after all. lol

i love weeding, it's quite thereputic lol i've got an allotment & grow lots of stuff.

i get my bloke to do all the sweaty dirty jobs, i get the plants going, watering is a joint effort & a huge chore but it's worth it in the end.

this year we are growing a lot of peas & broad beans as they freeze very well.

i have some artichokes that come up every year so they're easy

we've just put potatoes in, sewn some carrots, parsnips, beetroot, onions, leeks & garlic.

tomorrow i'm sewing runner beans, courgettes & sunflowers!

our fruit plants are more established now, so hoping 4 plenty this year.. smoothies & jam, yum.

strawberries, gooseberries & raspberries. even generations old rhubarb crown from my husbands side of the family.. planted trees last year which i hope will give us plums & cherries

got a greenhouse to sort out soon 4 my cucumbers, melons, chillies. i've bought 'special' cucumbers.. they're sausage size.

last year i did one chilli plant & had 100's from it, i made sweet chilli sauce & the melons have to be suspended in bras

then in my garden i grow salad, radish, herbs & sweetpeas heart tomatoes in hanging baskets

busy busy..

it's very rewarding, much easier than i thought, saves money! always tastes better & it's great to give away!

i'll try get some pics sometime
