Have you ever dated anyone old enough to be your father or
mother? Or perhaps grandmother??

I thought of this topic since I was out having dinner with
an ex of mine and when I went over to the counter to pay
for our dinner, the waiter said to me

"No, that's allright, your FATHER already payed when you
were in the restroom".

I'll refrain from stating exactly how old this ex is 'till
after I've seen some of your answers.

I have never dated a woman who was more than 3 years older than me.

Only one person was older, my ex-husband, by 10 months.

People shouldn't assume. In fact, I've been grossed out many times at the thought that people might think my father and I are "dating" when we go out alone to places.

My personal opinion, though, is that when people date others who are many years older/younger, they've got some Oedipal/Electra issues going on. I think it's pretty gross, both ways (dating someone old enough to be your father/grandfather or dating someone young enough to be your daughter/granddaughter)...just my opinion, though.

I heard that R. Kelly was dating some guy's balls right now. Talk about an age difference...

No, I haven't. But I wouldn't rule out someone older just because of age. I once heard you should cut your age in half, then add 7 to determine the young side of what u would date. i.e.:

I'm 32. Divide by 2 = 16 + 7 = 23 is the youngest I should date. Hmm... That's actually about where I would draw the line for young. But the question is about old -- I'd go into late 40's without reservation.

my girlfriend is nearly 10 years younger than me...i have slept with a few older women...and i must admit...it was pretty hot...i think the biggest age difference was about 14 years older than me

Does anyone think the stereotypical image regarding large distances in age is relative to which sex is older/younger? This is regading male/female relationships.

From what I see and/or hear...It's almost always looked at that males with much younger females are scorned more than females with much younger men. Or is this my imagination...keep in mind I am discussing over 18's here.

Considering that males supposedly mature much slower, wouldn't it only make sense that men get along better with a younger female? Or is this silly since they tend to have hardly anything in common as stated by another orger?
