Clean now, i'm lucky, i got out before it killed me.

Shame the same can't be said for certain friends of mine.

Do i regeret it? 100%.

I never did heroin or crack, but I think I hit all the big ones aside from those. Drugs were never a big deal for me. I never had to "quit" them because I was never all that into them.

I am lucky, my mom introduced me to marijuana when I was 8, smoked it until I was 11. I also was drinking since I was a toddler... beer mostly and rum.

I quit smoking pot out of boredom and supported my mom who made the same decision. When all my friends started becoming curious about smoking and drinking it was already old news to me. All of the girls I grew up with got hooked on crack cocaine and heroine. That could have easily been me also.

I was addicted to coke for about a year. I took it first time aged 30, last time was about 33. I never thought I would touch drugs when I was younger.

Very long story short, i got offered a place in a clinic, i was in London at the time.

It was a huge thing to actually say "yes" to the offer of a room there, and the clinic was torture for a loooong time, i was not allowed out on my own etc, but i am so grateful that those places exist.

If it was not for that place, i honestly think i would be dead.

Wow. Good for you. I can't imagine going through something like that.

I'm lucky enough to have never taken any form of drug before. I've never been interested.

I've always maintained when I'm retired and my one days kids have graduated that I would definitely be willing to try weed. But at the rate I'm going that won't be til I'm 84.......or a vampire...

Drugs were fantastic, for a long time, but i slowly turned into a monster, i feel sick when i think of those times.

And it's not just how you are as a person, phsically/mentally, it is how you interact/or not with others too, i did horrible unforgivable things while on all that shit.

I am sorry you went through so much, but I am glad you are stronger now because of it.

I hope the relationships effected were also strengthened as a result.

Same here. I actually smoked pot more in high school (it was easier to get than booze). But once I was "legal," I drank.

I tried coke exactly twice. The first time, I felt no different and the second time, all it did was give me a headache. It was easy to say "no" after that.

I am tempted though.

I can count on one hand the times that I've smoked weed and that's the only drug I've tried in my lifetime and have no desire to try any. I drink like a fish every Friday and Saturday night when I get off work though.

I sniffed sharpies in jr High when the DARE people told us not to, I wanted to know what they were talking about, I stopped after a week but sadly a friend of mine still does it, we graduated 5 years ago from HS poor fella
