Why didn't this happen when I was attending college?

It appears that some of the faculty of Northwestern University is up in arms after a professor of a human sexuality class offered up a live demonstration of a sex toy being used on a female volunteer.

Prof. John Michael Bailey offered up this live demonstration in an after-class session and informed students that the demonstration would be very explicit and told those who be uncomfortable seeing such demonstration not to attend. The demonsration involved the use of a "fucksaw", which was essentially a jigsaw that had a phallic dildo attached on the end. The female volunteer attended the session with her boyfriend, neither of whom were students at the university. The boyfriend then inserted the sex toy into her vagina and turned the unit on low power, which after a few minutes brought her to orgasm.

I took "Human Sexuality" my senior year, but it was a Biology class.

I also took "Literature & Sexualtiy", which was interesting.

Maybe the course isn't limited to "normal" human sexuality. Maybe it studies what most would consider deviant behavior as well.

Well, I don't mean to sound like I just fell off the turnip truck, but I had naively assumed that all dildoes were phallic. A quick google search has just shown me that I was wrong.
