Saw 3, last night. I'm slowly trudging my way through them all. I thought it was quite enjoyable for what it was, although it is obviously a lot of deeply unpleasant shite. Despise the flash-edit pounding metal montage reveal-alls at the end too, very cheap, lazy way of explaining the twist to the morons watching this silly pish. It also lights up the entire fucking room like some epileptic's nightmare when I'm trying to watch them i bed on my ipad in the dark.

Fenwick

I just saw Toy Story 3 for the first time two weeks ago as well. I thought the first ten minutes was a bit too forced, (how they landed in "trouble") but the rest was absolutely magnificent. 9/10

I went to two movies the this weekend

Black Swan - 6.5/10

Good but not great movie. While I definitely enjoyed it and found it unique, I thought it was a bit too long for what they focused on. Unlike the Red Shoes, I felt they spent too much time on the rehearsals and not on the actual part she was dancing at the end.

The King's Speech - 8/10

Very good movie. Just about anything with Geoffrey Rush is excellent and this was no exception.

I also rented a few others fairly recently

In The Realm of the Senses - 3/10

This was basically a porn movie posing as art. A geisha falls in love with someone and becomes obsessed with "doing him". I'm not squeamish about these things so I'm not rating it poorly because of that, (heck I can get down with a good porn movie too). But there was literally no back story. It was probably 75% sex scenes, and they were very graphic.

To Kill A Mockingbird - 8/10

Hadn't seen this in about 20 years and decided to give it another viewing. Very solid acting by Gregory Peck and Brock Peters. It takes quite a while to get to one of the main story lines, and it doesn't pull any punches when it gets there. Extremely well exectued. Robert Duvall's character is played a little over the top at the end, but it was still a strong movie.

Road To Perdition - 10/10

Absolutely brilliant movie. The story, the cast, the direction. Pure perfection. Probably one of Paul Newman's last roles and he is just such a perfect actor.

(2010) This was pretty good, although I almost didn't watch it because I thought it was going to be centred around boxing, only it turned to be an excellent family drama.

Christian Bale gave a stellar performance in it, and so did Melissa Leo. and I absolutely loved Amy Adams' scenes with the ditsy sisters! lol

that was the last movie i saw too, and it was great. the version i saw was a different cut from yours as the version i saw was centred around boxing

i might watch raging bull tonight actually

and before the fighter i watched true grit, which was pretty good. the coen brothers remake with the guy from tron and the guy from dogma that wasn't in phantoms

i'd give up as the series just gets worse as it goes on. it's like watching a remake of the previous movie in the series, but made by someone less talented and with a lower budget and most of the budget spent on alcohol and drugs for the director. and when i saw it gets worse, i mean the story and direction, not the gore, once you've seen one head torn off you've seen em all

if you want real gore and stuff checkout martyrs or a serbian movie, but if you puke your guts up and want to kill yourself after watching them, don't blame me. these films make saw seem like the magic roundabout

To be honest I prefer romantic comedies and anything with Adam Sandler in it.

I think I may have worded it the wrong way there as boxing was certainly a main storyline on the film, I just meant I didn't expect it to go deep into family dysfunctions as well, which I thought added a lot to the film. I also thought the chemistry between the cast was pretty great.

i then suggest 50 first dates. it's a romantic comedy, and adam sandler is in it. of course, as such it is a bit shit

punch drunk love, funny people, reign over me, you don't mess with the zohan, and the wedding singer are sociably acceptable adam sandler movies that aren't bad

you mean you thought you were going to see rocky 7 and had to sit through 2 hours of talking instead?

the biggest shock i ever had was when i went to see brokeback mountain expecting a clint eastwood type movie with the guy from donnie darko. it put me off camping for life

I saw Black Swan a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the film. I'd give it 9 out of 10. Just watching the trailer alone made me want to see it and I'm glad I did.

Yesterday I felt like watching The Godfather (first part) again. While I don't know for sure how realistic it is and while I'm aware of what kind of message it may give, I am more and more amazed by brilliant performances of Pacino and Brando (I find almost the entire cast to be excellent, too). And, what's quite important for me, it's not too far from the book (or the way I saw the book). Usually, all the movies I watched that were made after a book I read weren't good adaptations. However, this one was the first (well, and the only so far) one that didn't disappoint me.

And a couple of days ago I watched this one for the first time

It was a nice movie. Nothing too exceptional, but quite enjoyable.

as for the Rocky bit, well I've managed to avoid all films from that series but I guess yes, I was worried it'd be close to what I imagined them to be like, which it wasn't luckily.

actually the first rocky movie was great. the cinematographer of raging bull took inspiration from rocky, using different angles to shoot each fight to make them look different. the second rocky isn't bad either, then you got mr T and james brown in the sequels, it's just the 5th one that goes completely crap, the new one wasn't that bad either. and stallone wrote and produced the movie, he put the whole thing together himself, arranged it all. you got talia shire from the godfather as the love interest, and a great supporting cast. it's more about his personal life than just fighting, which is the same with most boxing movies really

On Imax. Took my nieces/nephews to it.

Eh,,,it was okay. I have to say the REAL STAR of the movie is *drum roll* you guessed it; graphics. I wish the battle/race scene was longer though, I really enjoyed that.

Good sci-fi/family flick, but I have to say what they did to Jeff Bridges' character spooked the fuck outta me shake

I saw The Fighter last night and thought it was great for pretty much all of the reasons already mentioned in this thread.

The last film i saw was actually Graffiti Bridge, and it was much, MUCH worse than i remembered. An awful set, terrible "hammy" acting, a dire, contrived storyline, a female lead who was so drippy and annoying that i was glad when she kicked the bucket.....and the music wasn't even all that good either.

2/10. Thank Christ i only paid £1.99 for the dvd at a charity shop.

Watched "THE TOWN" yesterday.

Um. It was really good? lol

I liked that it was in Boston. Movies in Boston I tend to like cause I like the culture of Boston, and the hard core attitudes the characters always have.

Pretty suspensful.

Some parts were kinda stupid as far as getting away with shit I don't think you'd normally get away with.

But I'd give it a 4 outta 5.

The only reason why I went to see that movie in the first place was because of the Brazilian actress Alice Braga (whom I'm a fan of.) I would have waited to see it on DVD if she wasn't in it. LOL

i saw that in the cinema. what a load of shite. it makes alien erection seem like a good movie. considering the guy that directed A4 did amelie and delicatessen, what the fuck was he thinking when he made that? i bet he was the only one that was happy when predators came out to show A4 wasn't the worst in the crossover franchise

the only way they could recover from predators is if they made a predator vs harry potter and the aliens killed them all in a 18 rated torture porn celebration at hogwarts and that bird turned 18 and got her tits oots for the lads

and if they do make that into a fucking movie, which guaranteed they will (and i bet in 3d), then i want my fucking cut of the profits
