I cant fathom that any intelligent human being would believe we have the only life form in the iniverse. other planets r very diverse in their climates, and other scientiic criteria, but i believe there is life on other planets. creatures? plants? animals? that r ideally suited to that specific enviromnment as we r to ours. i believe earth has been and is visited or inhabited at present, by life from other planets. i think we are very interactive with these forms as far as contributing their expertise to our expertise in science & warfare, and possibly many other matters. they r probably of higher intelligence than us, & working with us to learn from them. they could be any ones neighbor? however, they probably r very well protected within our government. But life comes in so many shapes and sizes, the chances of it being on another planet in any kind of form that is recognisable as sophisticated/intelligent/etc are reeaaalll long. so maybe we are the only life-form in the universe with the kind of properties (love, empathy, a knack for making cool gadgets) that we think are really worthwhile. Not sure how that means we can still believe we are god's 'chosen ones', or even believe in god for that matter. The odds are really long, but eventually something cool like humans had to turn up, and it happened to be us, here, now. In retrospect it looks like life on earth is special and has been 'chosen', but we're just a side-effect of probability. That doesn't take away from the splendour of our existence though...
